Multiple Listings on Same Item

Why are some Sellers, especially China, allowed to insert multiple Listings on the same Item?

If you mean they sell shoes but then list a pair of shoelaces for 99 cents to show up higher in search if someone searches by lowest price - it's been going on for years and I thought Ebay was doing something about it but maybe not. When those listings pop up while doing a search - I report them but I don't know if it does any good.

Are you asking why they have so many duplicate listings? I wish I knew. Maybe the rules there are not what they are here. I have been reporting issues (this and photo violations too) for years with no apparent results. Maybe if more people do the reporting, they will "hear" the numbers... ?

We used to have a lot of duplicate listings in desktop computer section.

It was taken care of by ebay and most are gone.

I really don't understand all the spam...

But now we have a few that are immune from the rule because they sell a lot or pay hefty to be sponsored. It's unfair.

Some of them have like 4-6 of the same listing if you scroll down. Using SAME Exact Photo and most cases it's not the product you ordered in first place...

Ebay told me that when you see multiples of the same thing, it's because it sells a lot and they allow the seller to do it.

"some" of those dupes are sponsored listings, but there certainly are a few using the same photos but different seller names.

I think in the case of the China sellers, sometimes it's same seller different IDs, but a lot of the time they ARE different sellers who are all sourcing from the same place, hence the same photos and descriptions but often slightly different prices.

Guessing it's a rat race there as much as it is here, especially on "new" stuff.
