This Forum has really Deteriorated to way to much Mockery, Rudeness, Attitude, & Criticism, & Not Constructive Criticism, I have just been trying to find answers & suggestions on how to Improve Matters, Let's Face It, Not Many are doing Very Well at all!!, & they were before including myself!, & Now sales are deteriorating rapidly, & despite the obvious reasons, WHAT can be Fixed here, Like search is a complete MESS, Item Specifics another complete Mess, Listing Positions Completely Unfair to those who do not want to spend even more, or offer free shipping & returns, So if No One has Suggestions for fixing things, WHY even bother with this Forum??

I have all sorts of suggestions for fixing things. But I have no influence over eBay's decisions or designs for those those things, such item specifics, seaches, promoted listrings, and so on. All I can offer people who are having problems with such stuff is advice on how to adapt to it as it is and/or how to use the occasional work-around.
As for your general point, I know that many people think that "niceness" trumps all, but I don't get the vapors when I encounter thoughts that don't match my own. In fact, it bores me to listen only to those who agree with me. I want my ideas tested, not reinforced. I've had some ideas give way under argument because they proved weak and hollow, and I've had others strengthened and refined through challenge.
I do find it sad, for both our sakes, when somone takes the mentally lazy way out by accusing me of "attacking" them in a disgreement, thus avoiding the work of offering reasoned or measured responses themselves.

Hi everyone,
This thread is getting a bit heated. Please remember that, while it is fine to disagree with others, discussion should always remain courteous and respectful.
Thank you for your cooperation.

"Am I the only one here that frequented the old Trust and safety board back around 2000?"
Yes, but I think the 'Feedie Board' was worse..I was just a lurker there, too scared to post.

The CSA board was vicious! And even though it was the wild west & there were truly some nasty ppl on there, I know of several boards that were started due to perceived over-moderation back then.

Heck, I have 20/20 vision and even *I* find that difficult to read. The brain looks for capitals in certain places and when they're everywhere, that messes with your ability to process what you're reading.

Those feedies were pretty impressed with themselves - I didn't bother with that board too much because I thought they were actually pretty 2 dimensional. I thought the booksellers board was actually worse - I was selling someone's antique book collection at that time - a lot of people there really knew their stuff but, man, you really had to pick through the sophomoric posturing to get to it.

A lot of the same old trolls and negativity. Some people are not even actual sellers. They are actually ruining it for others. Some of the trolls at the top this is all they do all day. How miserable are they.

I think this is what the OP is referring to.

I remember getting sent to the Pink Island, more than once. One time it was for a month.
A rather smug individual here once bragged to me that THEY had never had a pink slap - I asked them what was wrong??
SO many snowflakes, so little time..............
Wanna check out the Au boards sometimes, our mod's are basically non existant and only ever act if a post is reported - even then, not so much LOL We is tough downunder.

Take a look at your own backyard right now. You list a lot of die cast models primarily. Here is what eBay reports on how many HotWheel listings they have.
Time to diversify your listings by offering stuff the that buyers want/need. Sales for this stuff are never steady - they go up and down like a yo-yo.
Just a key other issue is the prices have staples - food, gas etc has reduced the discretionary budget. Oh with those sky rocketing home price going on - property takes went up last year for may folks- that put a nice dent in homeowners budget (e.g. mine went up 34%)
When things start slow - time to get up and do some evaluation on your side of the fence first.
Hint: Don't go fishing where all the fishermen/women are. A saturated market is seldom very profitable - your few listings of 2300+ a drop in the bucket (0.0021036364)compared to just the eBay listings - all those other sites have them to, along with garage sales, thrift stores.
There is a lot of work to become an "I R a Salesman, women, person" And one is you "Can't sit down" - the solution is not to drop your price.

I have constantly done very well with hot wheels & I have also been higher priced then my competition, but lately there has been an influx of extremely low prices, which are many sellers who are closing up shop & liquidating their inventory & I can't & will not even try to compete with those prices, because that is literally just giving inventory away for free after all fees, taxes, etc., I think the major problem is visibility, promoted or not i am not getting decent visibility & that is not my doing, It takes turnover & profit to re invest in more inventory, & i am currently not getting enough of that

Yes, have to admit I am no longer an actual seller. So that means I should not post here? Can you explain how I am "actually ruining it for others"?

I went to read it too, as I didn't see much pouncing in this thread.
I think @domin-tomas was being ironic. (umm, right?) 🙂
I think psychologists would have a heyday with these threads. At least once a year, I wish I had gone into psychiatry. Now I read the forum daily, 60% for edification, 40% for fascination.

Some no longer eBay" sellers have much more experience than just a mere 6 mos selling on eBay, and share their knowledge and experience. Hung up my eBay selling spurs in Sept 2021 to help take care of my 3 year old grandson - taking him and my son fishing this week end. Same age I took my son fishing for the first time - he caught a 12" large mouth on red crappie candy in a pond when we lived in Texas - priceless - I will give my customized light weight Ugly Stick that I had since 1974.". My info and others is free of charge. If you don't like , don't read.
Don't see how it ruins one thing for anyone
BTW isn't Sept. 2021 the same month you became an eBay member?

I'm sure many people see your "Seller Does Not Accept Returns" and move on. Doesn't help your visibility, either.
