This Forum has really Deteriorated to way to much Mockery, Rudeness, Attitude, & Criticism, & Not Constructive Criticism, I have just been trying to find answers & suggestions on how to Improve Matters, Let's Face It, Not Many are doing Very Well at all!!, & they were before including myself!, & Now sales are deteriorating rapidly, & despite the obvious reasons, WHAT can be Fixed here, Like search is a complete MESS, Item Specifics another complete Mess, Listing Positions Completely Unfair to those who do not want to spend even more, or offer free shipping & returns, So if No One has Suggestions for fixing things, WHY even bother with this Forum??

Take a look at your own backyard right now. You list a lot of die cast models primarily. Here is what eBay reports on how many HotWheel listings they have.
Time to diversify your listings by offering stuff the that buyers want/need. Sales for this stuff are never steady - they go up and down like a yo-yo.
Just a key other issue is the prices have staples - food, gas etc has reduced the discretionary budget. Oh with those sky rocketing home price going on - property takes went up last year for may folks- that put a nice dent in homeowners budget (e.g. mine went up 34%)
When things start slow - time to get up and do some evaluation on your side of the fence first.
Hint: Don't go fishing where all the fishermen/women are. A saturated market is seldom very profitable - your few listings of 2300+ a drop in the bucket (0.0021036364)compared to just the eBay listings - all those other sites have them to, along with garage sales, thrift stores.
There is a lot of work to become an "I R a Salesman, women, person" And one is you "Can't sit down" - the solution is not to drop your price.

I frequently find suggestions for fixing things here. I just take what I need and leave the rest...

Is all this over the fact that people didn't agree that eBay search should be gerrymandered to exclude auctions? Or that it was stated that promotions are voluntary? You won't always find complete agreement - that's because this is a forum.

There are always going to be naysayers and there are always going to be ébats great my sales are through the roof. You have to look for the in between comments for help.
i don’t always agree with what eBay does, but unless all the sellers stand United and do something (which will never happen) eBay is going to do whatever they want for their bottom line.
I love many things about eBay. I also don’t like many things, but it’s out of my hands.
There was a time I only used this platform to sell, but I’ve learned I will never get the old eBay back and I’ve had to adapt by seton multiple platforms and which ones I use for certain items.
I definitely wouldn’t sell big ticket items here, meaning anything above $200.00 I sell elsewhere.
It takes a long time to learn what to do and what not to do regarding many scenarios when it comes to online selling.

I don't see rudeness, criticism or mockery.
I see cold, hard facts. If I come here with a problem I don't want people to hold my hand and stroke my ego, I want to be told what needs to be done to fix the problem as quickly as possible.
A lot of the issues I see are posters who get angry when they don't hear what they want to hear, even if what they want to hear is the truth that will fix their problem.

I do agree this board has a few posters that I consider rude. For instance, one that has to respond to every post and constantly tell everyone else they are wrong. Other than that, I find the board very valuable in my quest to sell by reading posts/answers from the many very knowledgeable posters. The help I've received is priceless to me. I also offer advice from time to time and don't choose to play the victim if one of my ideas is a dud.

Lack of agreement with you doesn't equate to mockery, criticism and rudeness!
Most people don't come to the boards for coddling. They want facts and often with those facts are given reasons why some suggestions won't work.
Everyone who posted to your thread treated you with respect even though there was a lot of disagreement.
Instead of taking your marbles and going home, consider why what you thought might be a good idea won't work.
Sheesh, thick skins sure aren't in abundance here!

I don't mind that you have opinions or suggestions. Only that you tend to think those will solve the issues that are eBay when they have been small potatoes. Don't get bent out of shape when you find that issues that others feel are important are not the same as yours. Also, I have not seen anywhere that sales are deteriorating rapidly or that eBayers are leaving in droves. I have heard that on the boards for as long as they have been around. I joined eBay 4 years after they opened the doors. I have not agreed with many things they have done but I adapt...why????....because for most of us there is no place evenly close to being able to replace it.

I guess it all depends on perception.
Sometimes what we think is criticism is actually constructive, but we have a defensive wall up and don't take it for what it is.
Some things can be fixed here, most are just open to discussion. Sometimes those discussions can get pretty heated. Take the attitudes and rudeness and toss those out. But don't take suggestions as a personal attack. It's tough sometimes....we are human.
Rants about the site itself will never end. But that's what the forum is for...for discussion. For venting. And no, this is not the place for personal attacks. But I do see an awful lot of posters also turning around and attacking someone who simply doesn't agree with them.

In my experience on this forum as well as others, in most cases, people post the same old, same old questions in a different format.......it takes 2 minutes to see if your concern may have been addressed in detail, but...NO....they just post ....and the more Exclamation Points !!!!!!!!!!! or the more Question Marks ??????? they add, the more sarcastic the answers appear to be.....
Trust me...EVERY conceivable 1099 question has probably been asked (there are over 3000 matches on a quick search).....ebay is not scamming/ripping me off/treating me unfairly/ and so on...
Ask a reasonable question, and you will get a reasonable response .....these people like to help...its in their DNA....I know.....
We can't help just because some newbies offer hot wheels for 3.00 at auction and show up right next to yours....it is a very competitive category....

Or during the early days of this board. The board now is like kindergarten. It was crazy back then & extremely rude & nasty by today's standards, but fun too 🙂
Anyway, I personally don't waste my time much with threads about what Ebay should fix b/c unless it's a current bug or glitch b/c I find these general "Ebay should..." threads, to be a waste of time. They don't really accomplish much. Not that OP doesn't have a right to post them, but Ebay doesn't care what we think about what needs to be changed. They aren't here reading ideas & so it's just venting or ranting. I have a long list of things that I think Ebay should change & I'll use it in my elevator speech if I ever run into an Ebay exec. So personally, I prefer the satisfaction of being able to help someone who has a specific question, that I can provide a specific answer or knowledge in.
Also, while I didn't respond to OP's 2 most recent threads, I did not find them to be things that would even be in my top 100 of things I'd like Ebay to change. I only saw 1 rude reply though. Just b/c people don't agree with you, doesn't make them rude.

GOOD OLD MEMORIES OF FULL SCALE WAR ZONES EH.....
As for the topic, well it is difference of opinions that make the boards..
Some rudeness or criticism, or even mockery is expected of course... Such is what the opinions of some may be.

I always find the tone of the OP sets the tone for the entire thread.
Those who come here asking a question, not laying blame on other posters, just wanting assistance, will receive all the help that is available.
Those who come here guns drawn looking for a fight, are likely to get one..........

"Mockery, Rudeness, Attitude, & Criticism, & Not Constructive Criticism"
Sounds like my typical day at work.
