Mobile Friendly Checker

Is this really an important feature to check off before listing?

Mobile Friendly Checker

If you are not already using a mobile friendly template for your listings, which you should be using, then yes you should be using the checker.

Mobile Friendly Checker

I think I remember reading somewhere that 50% of buyers on eBay buy through the mobile app.

The most important thing you can do on used items is to use the condition description box to highlight important information as many buyers only look at the title & pictures and do not look at the actual item description. This creates returns for items with defects noted in the description but not noted in the item condition description box.

The boards are full of fake not as described complaints - I venture most of those returns result from the above.

Mobile Friendly Checker

I just don't understand why after all these years sellers still have to make sure they are compliant. On no other site that I list on do I have to have the system make my listing mobile compliant - it's automatically done.

It's not necessarily about making the listing mobile compliant. Ebay by default creates a mobile friendly page - so to speak - but the item condition description actually shows when you load the item - meaning, if they don't bother to click to view the description, all they are seeing is a compressed listing. This is what gets sellers of used items in trouble. We have to make sure defects are noted in that condition description box so buyers don't just view the photographs and say - oh, that looks good - purchase and then receive something with imperfections they were not expecting. They then file the fake not as described to get a free return and full refund on our dime.

It Is more about the buyers being lazy than the sellers doing something wrong.
