Missing Feedback from Lazy Buyers

Do you think it would be fair if eBay automatically gives you a positive feedback rating if the buyer fails to leave the seller feedback after the cutoff period? I should be well over 5000 feedback but buyers just don't leave feedback sometimes and it's frustrating, are sellers supposed to beg buyers to leave feedback?

I feel like if I leave positive feedback for the buyer, if they fail to leave me any feedback by the cutoff that eBay should be giving me automatic positive feedback for that transaction.

Anyone else feel this way? Are people being lazy or is it just irritating leaving a seller feedback?

Have you ever heard the saying....   "No news is good news."   😃

Totally true. Pass 30 days...sigh of relief. Pass 180 days...final sigh of relief.

eBay basically does leave feedback for the buyers LMAO.  The only feedback they’re allowed to receive is positive.

No they don't.  I still write my own words when I leave FB for my buyers.  Ebay does not write it for me.

True that we can only leave positive FB for buyers, but that is a different subject than what this thread is about.  Leaving only positive FB for buyers is the right thing to do if you are going to leave FB.  It is a very good business decision.  Publicly shaming a buyer was never a good thing.

IMHO Ebay should just stop having buyer FB all together.  That is the direction most of the sites similar to Ebay have gone years ago.  I'd like to see Ebay adopt this policy too.

This is a great idea, odd how ebay hasn't implemented this already, odd how posts disagree, if they don't leave negative or neutral, than it's a positive. Ebay should have takin initiative on this long ago to get each sale that is not negative or neutral a positive score, no brainer here.

That is simply not necessarily true.  Ebay doesn't have the right to attempt to read the mind of a buyer and decide what they meant to do.  No one has that right.  Which is likely why no other similar site does this and Ebay would never adopt such a policy.

You are in a bit of a different position than most that are posting on the thread.  Getting FB for a new seller is extremely important.  It enables you to build your little business.  I was there once and I remember trying to get my numbers up.  So I have the utmost respect for your position.

It is frustrating to wait and hope that your buyers will leave positive FB.  Just keep in mind, however tempting it becomes, don't ever write to your buyers asking them to leave FB on your account.  That can backfire on you quickly and could result in you getting FB that hurts you.

You just need to keep on selling and hoping more buyers will post positive FB.  It isn't a good feeling being at the mercy of others, but you do just have to be patient.  The FB will come as long as you keep selling.  The more transactions the better.

Good Luck.
