Merry Christmas NOT!!!!!

This is the worst Christmas season I have had on Ebay. What the heck is Ebay doing? They have changed categories and so many other things that are making it impossible for people to find anything. If they want sellers just to sell a bunch of foreign junk then they should just tell collectible sellers that they don't want us anymore.  I also buy items on Ebay and they don't treat buyers a whole lot better than sellers. It is a wonder anyone is selling anything on Ebay. Another thing that Ebay has done it not allowing a seller to print media mail labels unless an item is listed in books or music. I listed a book in a toy category to get maximum exposure and then I couldn't print a media mail label which stinks because I had to use a more expensive priority label. All is all it looks to me like Ebay is falling apart and trying to suck every last cent they can out of buyers. If you are an Ebay yes man please don't bother me with your comments. It would be nice if Ebay really cared about sellers and listened to us.

Re: Merry Christmas NOT!!!!!

Tell us what you think a buyer cannot find. We can find it for you and show you it is there. Also if it is a book list it in the book category, it is not a toy.

@debvor

For that issue, just use another shipping label service.  You can, for example, use Pirate Ship, or even PayPal and fund it with a cash back credit card..... Voila!  They are at the basic discounted rate as eBay, oftentimes less expensive.

As far as "changing" categories, buyers are not pleased either... no more "browsing" in their favorite categories (which no longer exist)  to see what is available and they are not happy either.   Diversification is a good plan if you are a seller and your objective is to make money.

Re: Merry Christmas NOT!!!!!

I sell toys mostly and there are definitely books that are toy adjacent and would be more likely to find a buyer in the action figure category than the book category.

Re: Merry Christmas NOT!!!!!

I am in agreement with you.  I used to look for items for my antique car collection. Now their are so many junk china trash listed to fit a 53 Ford, it is not fun anymore. It also makes perfect sense to list a toy book in the toy area where people who collect the type of toys that the book is about. They are the customer for that type of book. Not everyone understands marketing.  the losers in charge , that keep making changes to ebay, should try selling something or searching for it on ebay. I think that would open their woke eyes !!!!

Re: Merry Christmas NOT!!!!!

Actually, I believe the Christmas I spent in Vietnam in 1969 was a bit worse than this for me.  At least no one is trying shoot me out of the sky or drop a rocket on my head this year.

Re: Merry Christmas NOT!!!!!

Changed categories, constant need of fixing things ebay breaks, horrible algorithms, etc - I am wth you. However, as far as printing shipping label for Media Mail - that is not necessary the ebay issue. You can print labels (sometimes just copy/paste address) on other sites: Pirate Ship, PayPal (paypal.com/shipnow), stamps.com, etc.

Re: Merry Christmas NOT!!!!!

@debvor

It has been a challenging Holiday Season - no doubt about it.  We hit a wall on Oct 12th and recovered only slightly right before Thanksgiving with a small push and then for about 10 days in December.  Then, like a faucet, it ended abruptly again.  Have never had a Holiday Season like this in all the years (17) we have sold here - we think ours is tied to categories/search and Promoted Listings Advance beta launch, but honestly, we have no idea.  We just know our bank account is way down from years' past.

Sorry you were in the "group" like many of us, whose sales were woeful most of the past 90 days.

(Many post they have had record sales this season - happy for them, but would have preferred we ALL be *happy*)

Don't know what you are smoking, but eBay is doing everything right since we have had a record 2020 and now a record 2021!

I listed a book in a toy category to get maximum exposure and then I couldn't print a media mail label which stinks because I had to use a more expensive priority label.

All you had to do was write (or type) a label (return address, shipping address), tape it to your box, go to the post office, mail it Media Rate there (answer the USPS annoying Question, "Anything Liquid, Fragile, Perishable or Potentially Hazardous....,are there any Perfume, Lithium Batteries, or Mercury"), upload the tracking number to the "Awaiting Shipping" section of Orders within your shipping time in your Seller Hub, and I do not see the problem here.

All is all it looks to me like Ebay is falling apart

No.  Me thinks if you look 1mm away from the routine, you'll find easy solutions.

Glad no one is shooting at you and sorry for this years poor financial record.  Of course, everything is relative.  Merry Christmas and here's hoping that you have a better new year financially.
