Just an idea. Amazon keeps customers coming back because they signed up. How about ebay having a " Lottery ". I am sure some kind of algorithm could automatically pay part or all of a customers purchase, seemingly randomly as a surprise. Rarely pay all of it and make it a larger Dollar amount. Maybe show bigger winners on ebay for all to see. I think this type of a program could also get you a ton of free publicity. Please forward to the right department. Let me know if it will considered.

This is not eBay customer service. It's a peer platform with other buyers and sellers.
If you want to pass on this suggestion directly to eBay reps, go to social media (facebook or twitter) and tag eBay or send a DM.
Most of eBay's promotions are geared towards targeted categories: sneakers, handbags, watches, trading cards, jewelry

@diana6759 Ebay used to have "sweepstakes" type promotions........but at some point they decided to try to go after the "high dollar" spenders ($1000's or more)......with the luxury verticals.......and apparently are gearing promotions, as Wasting says, to those buyers...... Theory is that those buyers will also buy other stuff beyond the expensive items......a trickle down theory.

Who would pay for this? I'm not interested as a seller in having fees increase for this to be offered. I don't believe gambling is ethical. I'm not alone and it may drive more away. It may not even be legal in all states. Most have all kinds of laws for sweepstakes, contests and lotteries.

I doubt anyone will be encouraged to buy something just for a chance to win, I wouldn't.

You can always do some sort of the same thing with your own business.

Another online retailer gets buyers to purchase a yearly Prime Membership. A type of a loyalty/reward program. eBay should look at offering something.
Sellers earn a Top Rated badge. Start a Top Rated Buyer program. I would give those buyers without returns or non payment cases a discount.

The State of Tennessee does not allow gambling -- no 50/50 tickets, no win a car contests, no casinos, no bingo, no raffles. (well, I think they allow 3 or 4 raffles a year with permission from the state legislature)
The only reason we have a lottery is because all the profits go to education. Otherwise we wouldn't even have that.
So any form of eBay "win a prize" would exclude Tennessee buyers.

"I would give those buyers without returns or non payment cases a discount."
I wouldn't - because sellers would have to pay for it.

"Sellers currently pay for Best Offers, Phony Markdown Sales and Promoted Listings. This would just be an optional tool added for those sellers interested in using it."
