How can we all get the folks at corporate to stop the "Skipped Price" train from running off the tracks? Markdown Manager is now a disaster for us sellers who love giving our buyers a sale. Was it broken? Is "Skipped Price" the fix?

I just have one question/observation. If I do any adjustment on the price of an item, or if its 30 days are up and it is automatically relisted by ebay, that starts the clock ticking all over again on the initial 14 days I need to wait to create a sale. BUT, if an item doesn't sell, ebay says if I relist it, they will automatically reduce the price by 5% every 5 days until it sells, or until it reaches a preset lowest price. I can't offer a legitimate sale in less than 14 days, but ebay can lower the price of an item for me every 5 days. They can control the price reduction of MY items, but I can't. Hyprocrites!!!

What?! So they can adjust our selling prices? I don't like that at all. We do this for a living and will sell things close to fair market value. I'm not doing this to "get rid" of items like a garage sale.
I miss the old days - 20 years ago when I started - where sellers were respected.

I haven't come across that screen yet when it relists lower. Something new? We maimly do "buy it now - make offer" since we can get usually around 15% or so more for an item using the auction format. We do have set for 30 day with re-list automatically. I better monitor prices and see if that changes. I haven't seen an option yet for a "minimum" selling price. Thanks for the info, just another thing for sellers to watch out for.
Anyone out there have good things to say about selling on Amazon? Thinking we may have to try using them a bit to see how that compares.

When was this "new policy" put in place where we have to have the item NOT discounted for at least 14 days prior in order to discount it??? Because if the policy was implemented after me signing up a year for a store, then I am cancelling my store because there are too many glitches in ebay and bottom line it is wasting my time and costing me money. ;(

GTC is the best answer and only solution. Serve your initial 14 days in NoSaleJail and you're done.

In order to have items discounted, your items must have been listed for 14 calendar days at the same price. In addition, the item must have not been included in another Sale event or markdown promotion within the past 14 days."
It is not a glitch, it is the new policy. Sad.
I know about the 14 day price rule, that came out in the update BUT they quickly altered/changed/gave in about how fast items could be put back into another sale. They took that rule out of the game. (thank goodness)
I'll have to go look for the post for the exact wording.
This new thing about all this skipping - is a glitch and it's driving me crazy too. I've already called twice on it Once each week it happened to me when I was trying to set up sales. The only workaround that I've been able to do is use BOGO sales, $x off $x, buy 2 get %off or buy 2 get get 1 free etc type of sales. Those type of sales still work.
Keep reporting it!

I was thinking of closing my store and this has sealed the deal. The ONLY reason I was hesitant was because I rely on short sales at specific times and this new policy has killed my sales. I didn't even notice this until a few weeks and thought it was a glitch. I have been meaning to start using facebook so this dumb new policy was the kick I needed. Great Job ebay from a seller since 2004ish.
This has to be GONE before the holidays - seriously, no flash sales on Black Friday? Or all the different sales I run from that day on basically thru the end of the year?
Side note... Too afraid to go to GTC after what happened with the pics. I've already scaled down my store size. Have SO much stock that has never seen the light of day and all I can think about of lately is (pretty much since the last two updates/they really sealed the deal) I really need to be out sooner than later.

Found it:
"Markdown Manager Update
In the 2018 Summer Seller Update, we announced new changes to requirements for creating a markdown sale event that went into effect on June 25, 2018. We listened to your feedback and have made a change to these markdown sale requirements. Sellers can now add items to a markdown sale event even if the listing was previously in another sale event within the past 14 days as long as the listing price has not been changed."

what does this mean? does this mean if I have an item at 100 dollars and put it on sales for 1 week 10% off. when the sale ends and the price goes back up to 100 I can immediately put it on sale from another week? or no? i have to wait 14 days

So...7 days later and there is still no known resolution. I just opened and eBay store, one of the main reason was the markdown manager and promotional listings. Ebay needs to apply a speedy fix or they will lose sellers in droves!

I got this message from eBay today. I hope you all did. Here is a synopsis "Starting now, you will be able to create markdown events again immediately after listing"
Hooray! We can start marking down again just in time for the holidays.
