I'm transitioning from 30 to 60 day free returns and from one day to same day handling.
Just wondering: Do you highlight this in your listing description area? Most of my listings (except some older ones) have only description info there...I do not put in anything about my policies or what a swell seller I am ,etc. But since one reason to choose 60 day free returns is to instill confidence in the buyer, I wonder if highlighting that is a good idea? ebay doesn't seem to do much with it in the return area: the info is there, but not in any very noticeable way.

Yes, I do. In footnote form. I am also thinking about adding an image to all my listings that reiterate my policies. I do not think it can hurt.
Glad that you are doing this and I wish you the best of luck!

@my-cottage-books-and-antiques wrote:@fbusoni Thanks. I will definitely consider adding something.
An image in the image gallery, or in the listing description? While I doubt ebay will object to an image in the gallery, I believe it might (technically) be a rule violation?
Apologies, should have been more precise.
An image in the image gallery, along with all the images of the item that I am selling.
I do not put anything other than plain text in the listing description.
(Although in the old days I used to have javascript drop down menu inside the listing textbox that linked the contents of my personal record store website; click a link and a new page would open. Cannot fathom why eBay objected! 😁)

60 day returns? Dumbest policy I ever heard of. If it's okay on arrival, no need for return. This is just another way for the seller to lose money to folks that only want to "borrow" the item.

I am following along here. This is interesting. Thank you for sharing your insights @fbusoni

This is an interesting topic that @fbusoni outlined in a previous post. It would be nice if we could get a follow-up in 30/60 days @my-cottage-books-and-antiques
I will be watching.

@chevymontecarlo88 As I said in a previous post, I'm doing a number of things as we approach Q4, and so whatever the results in terms of views, sales etc, it will be difficult to attribute any increase (I HOPE there's an increase) to one definite change. Even an increase in returns might not prove much, since I will be adding more clothing, which generally has higher remorse returns than some other things. (although any returns initiated after 30 days (my previous policy) would be a clear result of this change.
So, while I'll try to post about this stuff, this won't really be a "pure" test, since other changes I'm making might muddy the waters.

There is no need to post anything you think might not be accurate. Your gut feeling or opinion would be helpful, even if it's not scientific.
Good luck in Q4

I can certainly see why you'd say that.
I once had the unfortunate experience of coming into direct contact with a "toy train enthusiast" (or whatever they call themselves).
He had a deep, profound emotional bond to his little toy trains.
I could not see him ever wanting to dissolve that relationship with a return.

Even if I had 60 day returns I would not want to go out of my way to make a big deal about it as I would rather not sell to customers who care about return policies at all.

@my-cottage-books-and-antiques wrote:@fbusoni Ah, OK. Again, I'll consider that. I suspect more people at least scroll through the photos than actually look at the description anyway.
It is a lot harder to go back and delete images in all your listings than doing a bulk edit to your item description should you change the policy in the future.

@lakefor94 Thanks! Excellent point....I'll definitely consider that....might hold off on promoting it there until I see how it is working for me.
