Making "don't allow offers" your default selling preference

Is this not possible? I probably list something once a day or two and I swear it was my default for a long while, and just the last couple days I've had to start changing "allow offers" to "Don't allow offers".

@ittybitnot   Thank you, I missed this one.  I will.

Making "don't allow offers" your default selling preference

@simply-the-best-for-you  Sorry to take so long to respond...I had ballgames all weekend and a household full of my grandkids.

Just to make it clear, I never use automated offers and have offers turned off.  I also had offers turned off on SIO's.   I never copy anyone's listing becuase 90% of the time they are wrong.  I make my own listings.  I've never had a problem until the last couple weeks.  That's when I seen the Ebay post and I put two and two together that it might have changed some settings.

Looking at some of the recent posts, I can see it's not just me and it's coming from seasoned sellers who know what to look for.    That's why I think its in the new programing.   I personally went from no counter offers to a bunch of them within a 2 week span.

It would be no big deal but there is no way to bulk edit these, so you have to go into each one and turn it off.  Over 100 edits is tedious.  I don't want to end the listings becuase that takes away from my monthly free listings.

If they could either put something in the bulk edit to fix them that would be great.  If not create a button that those of us that don't want them can keep it off.   I know there is one in the SIO'S and I initially had it turned off from the very beginning.

I will say I haven't had any offers or counter offers since I initially wrote in this thread.  Quite puzzling to me.

We'll see how it does this week.

@simply-the-best-for-you  @ittybitnot @az93  It has to be a bug in the programming due to them adding a new feature.  After reading the pinned post about Offers, they say they are gonna take feedback.  They should have at least let us comment on that thread so we could leave feedback.  I actually went into the offer system and hit the feedback button to let them know what is going on.   I would suggest everyone having issues do that so they know there is a problem.  If they don't know they can't fix it.   Maybe kyle@ebay  can pass on the word to them or let us know what our next steps are to get this resolved.  When you have seasoned sellers having problems, You know there is a problem.   There are way too many buttons in different places to turn off and on the offers.  We should have only one and it should be on the Hub main page and a way to bulk edit them.   Telling a buyer no sometimes makes people mad, but when they give a rediculous counter offer it's all you can do.  I don't want someone coming back and buy something just to leave bad feedback.  I strive to make buyers happy and still make a profit.  I'm not a turn and burn store who doesn't care about customer satisfaction just to make a buck.  Too many of those are ruining the Ebay experience.  I hear it all the time from customers.   We just need a simple fix from the programmers.

Hey @wirkaholic, thanks for the tag.  Your suggestion to provide feedback on the page is spot on.
The setting should be working how @jonathanbrightlight talked about it here.  Essentially the setting should "stick" with whatever it was set to on the last listing.  So please be sure to continue providing feedback through the page (or if you are on mobile, you can simply shake your phone to start a report).

@wirkaholic  I'm not convinced it's a bug, it may be an intentional 'feature' (longtime former developer here) but I don't think it's related to the new feature b/c it pre-dates that by many MONTHS.  This has been going on for me for probably 9 months now.   Additionally, the new feature is related to Automated Offers, I don't use AO's & this has been happening to me.  I won't rule it out, b/c that is also turned on, but that's not the biggest issue to me.  But yeah, this issue very much pre-dates the new feature.

I just brought this thread to eBay's attention late on Friday.  kyle@ebay  Just FYI I am working with someone on this, please reach out to me directly as I can't post it here, but hate to duplicate effort.  I have let the person know about this thread.

FWIW, I disagree about only having 1 global option on the SH page as the ONLY option.  I prefer to set them per item.  There are some items I may be willing to accept counters on (old, stale items), while not being willing to accept them on most.

It's great to hit the link to give them Feedback!  I know those do get read, as I've been contacted through them several times.  But for me, this way pre-dates the new feature.

Hey @simply-the-best-for-you I didn't see this tag before I replied to the other one in the thread.  But that's okay.  It's not a concern about duplicating efforts.  It's more like tag-team efforts to make sure the proper people are aware of the issue!
