My sales have dropped by over 50% since this time last year. Sure, I have new competition, but after searching on my phone for my product I was extremely disappointed to see that when I click on "full description," it pops-up my description which contains text and ads, but everything is four times too big! It is supposed to be responsive to the device I am using.
I have an Android smart phone and was testing my product page using Mozilla Firefox. I will later test other Apps and have my brother test my listing on his Apple phone.
The last time I checked, I would click on the "full description" link on my phone, and instead of having a pop-up, the description text and photos would load up in the same window a-ok. Whoever changed this code did not test it properly!
This is affecting all my listings. I worked very hard to make my sales copies. Now, they aren't even loading up properly. It has also taken eBay four phone calls and over three weeks to get an a-hole competitor to take down my plagiarized text and photos with absolutely no results. Now I see my sales copies aren't even being displayed properly on small devices. This is beyond unacceptable.
Please help.

My guess is it has something to do with ebays dislike for sellers using custom html in the description area.
I used to do this several years ago but quit because it became to much work when ebay would make some change

EBay recommends keeping the description formatting simple. When you make a listing and opt to use some of the elaborate custom features this will pop up. "We recommend sticking with black 14pt font."

I fixed it. The images were set to a defined pixel width and height. I changed the width to "100%", got rid of the height command, and that fixed all my images so my sales copy looks good on all devices. The fixed images were pushing the text outside the border of the website. Ebay needs to get their s*** together.

It sounds like the problem was the size of the stock photos, not Ebay.

Of course it MUST be eBay's fault that you used bad coding, the use of defined size images vs percentages is something that most people gave up on a decade ago when mobile began it's domination.
Into your life it will creep

You two are idiots. Yes it is ebay's fault. First off, my code WAS responsive as of their last platform update. My code was rudimentary, something I learned my first day in HTML class back in 2022. On top of that, if I redefine the variables to height 50%, width 50%, it displays the image INCORRECTLY! If you two dip **bleep**s knew anything about coding, you would know that this is **bleep**ed! When I said, "I changed the width to "100%", got rid of the height command..." I was making the point that by using improper code (missing height command) is how to make the image appear correctly. Again... invalid code is what ebay requires to make photos appear correctly.
Ebay is **bleep**ed, this forum is useless, and ebay support is as usefull as Hellen Keller after getting ran over by a **bleep** dump truck. Ebay wouldn't even delete a competitors listing who stole all my marketing material. Lost $2500 in sales last month. I am beyond **bleep** off.

With a attitude like that there would be no reason for any to want to help you. What proof do you have that your competitor lowered your sale by $2500.00 because copied your text? Most buyers buy based on price not text. My suggestion would be lower your prices below the competition by at least 25% and I would bet you get most of the sales back.

I've been building my web sites since the late 90s, so I know a little about coding.
I use valid code in my listings and the images show like they are supposed to.

My attitude is this way because after calling ebay 4 times I have gotten no results. My competitor stole my title, description, and photos. He is using my work to sell his product. If you can't figure out why I am going insane I would you suggest you leave me the **bleep** alone.

If you talked to eBay on the phone 4 times, you are definitely a greenhorn. If you are concerned about another seller using your pics and descriptions, you certainly do not know eBay policies.

The phone clerks have a reputation for just wanting to get you off the phone. EBay denies that they work for a sub-contractor.

The social media Chat accounts are covered by trained eBay employees with some authority.
And you get a transcript so you can compare what you heard with what you were told.

I've been doing web marketing, SEO, coding, sales copy writing, and web design for over two decades. I also know what the law is. If eBay's policy supports plagiarism then that is f'd up.

So, when I ask to talk to a supervisor, that is actually a contractor as well?
Usually, I visit the automated assistant, and type in "call me." I then get the two options to either do a call or a chat. You are saying that it is better to use chat, correct? Are these eBay employees available for chat past 6pm?
I also checked out your links. Do you think I should resubmit my problem to a chat agent, or the twitter link you provided? I know it's a stupid question, but so far, I have been dealing with brain dead eBay... representatives.
This guy that is plagiarizing my work has now sold out of his product. He made $750 in sales this weekend. The person I talked to Thursday night said this would be resolved within 24 hours. It is now Monday night.
Thanks for the reply. I appreciate it.
