Mailed wrong item

@Anonymous

1. Contact the buyer ASAP and let them know.  Ask them to mark 'return to sender' on the (incorrect) package.  If the wrong item is cheap, I'd just tell the buyer to keep it.

2. Ship the correct item NOW and also let them know that the correct item is on the way.*

*You can put an identifier on the correct package, like a checkmark or star or something, and let the buyer know that the correct package will have this identifier on it so they know which one is the right one.

@Anonymous Well Deb I would think you would run to your local post office in Texas and do an intercept of package. I believe the cost is around 15 bucks but you may be able to retrieve it in time.

@Anonymous Contact the buyer who you sent the wrong item to. Kindly explain your error and ask them to simply ship it back to you in the same container. You should send them a label to do so to ensure they are not out any money. Let them know you will send the correct item ASAP. Then turn around and completely refund them so they get their item free of charge for this inconvenience. That will help insure they send you back the incorrect item.

Notify the buyer whose item you sent to someone else. Completely refund that buyer as well so that hopefully they don't leave you negative feedback. Assure them that once the item is returned to you, you will ship it to them free of charge.

Sometimes we make mistakes but the main take away is that this will never happen to you again. You have learned a valuable lesson now. The faster you work on this and communicate correctly with your buyers, the better you will come out of it. Best of luck to you....

I grabbed the wrong book. In a hurry.  Should I just mail a check with the postage amount? Can I get ebay to refund the book amount?  I'm new at this.
