MARKDOWN MANAGER - HOW to add to an existing Sale?

I have a MARKDOWN MANAGER SALE ongoing for every item in one of my store categories, but a few of the items have ended without a sale & have now reverted back to the original sales price like before I put them on sale, how can I add them back into the SALE?

There is this line in the MARKDOWN MANAGER when setting up your sale - "Include skipped, or new, items when they qualify".  I made the assumption that new listings in that category would be relisted, I checked that box, but evidently it doesn't mean they will be relisted at the SALE price.

I cannot find any provision for adding items to a SALE once it has begun, does that mean I have to start a brand new SALE every time one of the listings in the EXISTING SALE ends? That seems rather stupid!

Just click the "add button". You CAN add items to an existing sale.Screen Shot 2019-02-25 at 7.41.31 PM.png

Hello @vintageista  Please disregard my screen shot, I inserted the wrong one and could not remove it. You do not have to wait 14 days anymore, ebay changed that due to all the backlash. I think if you set up rules, you will not have to add each listing back to the sale though. I am not entirely sure as I do not use markdown manager anymore and haven't since before they changed (read:ruined) it)

MARKDOWN MANAGER - HOW to add to an existing Sale?

@vintageista

  • Relists are assigned new item numbers so they will not be automatically added to a markdown event unless you set up rules (more on that below).
  • You CAN add items to a markdown event mid-sale.
  • When you go to Edit the event in promotions manager you will see something that looks like this:

markdownedit.jpg

  • Click the "Add" hyperlink next to where it says the number of items selected. From there you will be able to select additional items for your markdown.
  • Keep in mind that the listing will have to index before you are able to select it for addition to your markdown event.

Going forward, if you are going to mark down every item in one (or more) of your store categories, the best way to go about it is to set up rules rather than selecting items individually... it's much more efficient.

  • On the first screen you will "Set Discount"
  • On the second screen you will see this page:

markdownrules.jpg

  • Click the button on the right to create rules.
  • On the next page you will be able to select entire categories. You will also have the ability to set up exclusions if there are any items in those categories that you don't want to include, and you can set filters to only markdown items in a certain price range.

  • Doing it this way means that any time you newly list or relist items that are part of the (store or eBay) category selected, they will automatically be added to the sale. They need to index on the site first, then index again within the markdown. I've never seen it take longer than 24 hours.
  • It's more efficient and doesn't require the maintenance that you're currently dealing with having added items one by one.

MARKDOWN MANAGER - HOW to add to an existing Sale?

Thanks for your great attempt to help out, but there is no ADD button on my screen! Have tried at various different times and it just does not appear. Guess I should have used the CREATE RULES way to set up the sale, both options state that you can add in additional listings, but you cannot! Why does eBay do stuff like that? It shouldn't be that complicated! The old way worked just fine!
