Hi,
accidentally I noticed that my Good till cancelled listings were ended with no obvious reason. It has been happening for two weeks and only after that I noticed that. I communicated with eBay customer support and they told me my selling limits are 100 quantity in all my listings and 5000 USD value in all my listings? I have been selling on eBay for 15 year and last year I normally had hundreds of quantities and more than 20000 USD value.
Anybody with similar experience? Are they normally lowering seller's seling limits to earn less final value fees? It is like they shoot themselves in the leg, I totally doesn't understand that.
Thanks
Martin

How is the health of your account? Have you reviewed your Seller Dashboard? Do you have too many defects in any category?
A reduction in selling limits usually happens when your Seller status goes to below average. So make sure you take a look at that. If that isn't the reason, then you need to contact Ebay directly. And for the best information I would strongly suggest you go to Ebay for Business on Facebook.
Here are your options for contacting Ebay Customer Service.

If when you use the link below you can only get to the Automated Assistant, type AGENT in the box and hit enter. You will then get more options.

Once you learn why it happened. Here is what you need to do for the future to get your selling limit raised.
When a seller desires to increase their selling limits, they are allowed to request an increase once every 30 days. Mark your calendar and every 30 days request an increase until you have your selling limit well above anything you think you will ever need. Below is a link to where you can go to ask for a selling limit increase. It is the third option in the link below.

I just took a look at my limits cuz i need an increase due to the elimination of the 8 time relist for auctions. this is what mine says,
Currently, you've listed or sold 133 items of your 1,900 monthly limit. You can list or sell up to $45,393.23 more to reach your $47,000.00 monthly limit.
If this is true why do I have only 250 free listings. Would you know why?? Thanks for any help.

You get 250 free..........but you can pay for (or get a store) and list 1900 items.....with a $ limit of 47,000.....
They can/do lower limits if you take an hiatus from selling....

Because the number of free insertions is based on your store subscription level; it's not connected to your listing limits. Sellers who do not have a store subscription (and also sellers who have a Starter-level subscription) get 250 free insertions per month.

My "Seller status" has been Above standard for years. I have no returns. Nothing unusual recently I'm aware of. I contacted eBay support, hopefully they will be able to clarify it.

How many free listings you have has nothing to do with your Selling Limits. The 250 free listings is what Ebay offers to all non store owners. If you want to list more than the 250, you are welcome to do that however you would pay a listing fee for the additional items.
I'm not sure why you need an increase in your selling limit unless you are planning to list some very high $$ value items.

I hope you will come back and share with us what they say as it would be interesting to know for all of us.

Hey Martin. I've seen several reports of the same lately. In most cases it's been a combination of factors - typically a combination of low sales volume and stale listings.
Low sales volume means the seller was classified as an occasional seller. That can translate to lower listing limits.
It's not uncommon for eBay to end stale listings that haven't had a sale in over a year. Are a lot of your listings old?
Either way, when a seller's listing limits are decreased, any listings that go above that limit will end once they hit their renewal date until the account is within their limits.
Here's an example of a seller going through this a few weeks ago @gtechzone:

I have not read any threads that a seller had their selling limits lowered because their sales volume was lower. Certainly I don't read all threads, but this seems a very strange reason to lower someone's selling limits.
Same with what you may be calling a "stale" listing. I have never had Ebay remove any of my listings because they are stale nor have I had them lower my selling limits because of these reasons. And believe me there have been stretches where it was hard to sell a thing.
Without these situations being coupled with some type of Seller Defects or service metric dings, I don't think this is happening to very many sellers.
On that thread you listing, You are assuming this is the problem. We have no confirmation or Ebay policy that calls the stuff out that you feel are affecting them. We have no idea what caused the problem for this particular seller. It very likely has to do with multiple quantities that put them way above their limit initially coupled with their long stretches of time off from selling and then they return a few months later. It could be any number of things that cause that seller their issues.

It turns out that the reason for my low selling limits was some technical bug. At least eBay support wrote me that. They raised my selling limits manually.

I’m a little confused here. I have seen this and several other postings dealing with selling and listing limits.
I did an eBay search and it says that information can be found in seller hub in the overview section with a “monthly limits” section.
I went to Overview and can not find the monthly limits section.
So does that mean I have no limits? Bear in mind that I have been selling since ’04 and I have over 11,000 listings. So are you eventually freed from any limits? Does that offer hope to others?
12-04-2022 02:15 AM
I suppose it's possible to eventually be free of limits, but the only accounts that I have seen that don't display any limits are the really old ones, like from 1999. Do you see limits in a big pink box on this page linked below?

I made this same complaint to Ebay a long time ago. I was told that mine is set so high that there was no way I could or would ever even get close to it. Not sure what that means, but it was what I was told. The CSR also said this happens on some of the older accounts. Again not sure how they define that either.
