One of my packages got lost by USPS... I don't know what's happening to it, if it's really stuck where it says it is, or if it's blindly moving through the post. No tracking updates since May 22 when it was dropped off.
It sucks to have to refund on an expensive item, but I don't even care about the money at this point... what I care about is something I might never see again in my lifetime (because it's pretty rare) is now lost somewhere in the mail and the buyer is disappointed.
I've done everything I can do to try and track down this package, but it's really up to USPS to find it. I'm hoping even if I do have to refund (I've been given a Friday deadline to have it resurface in the mail somewhere or refund), that it magically turns up later and the buyer gets his item.
If you have a magic wand and can make this package turn up, now would be a good time... I need all the magic I can find.

I had two shipments which never got scanned picked up 5/25.
One of them came out of hiding and was delivered today.
I am hoping the other will make its appearance tomorrow or Wednesday. It is going further.

Hopefully it will get resolved soon for you. I also have had many packages in the past not get scanned and show up in another states sorting facility days later. Either way its a bummer and unwanted stress.

We're waiting until Friday before I refund, so I'm hopeful. Packages don't get lost that much, and people say that I can file insurance claim, but that doesn't help the buyer have a rare item that he got a deal on. Other people are selling them, but asking much more, and theirs are listed for a long time without a sale... I priced mine to sell, sold it, and now it's lost.

What does tracking say?
So, I have a few packages never delivered still to this day LOL and got positive feedback from (honest buyers).
Not "freight forward"?

If you have not already signed up for tracking updates, I recommend doing it here:
https://tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfirmAction_input
Enter the tracking number and click track. On the next page that opens scroll down to Text and Email Updates and select them all, both text messages and emails if possible.
I have had excellent luck in the past using the above method. For whatever reason, in my experience, it gets packages scanned and moving.
I hope your package makes it safely to your buyer.

Thanks for the link, this has been done (I did text to my phone only though).
Everything else that was shipped that day was delivered, the most recent package was delivered May 29.
The customer also ordered twice since then, and got both other packages that I sent.

Acceptance scan, that's all. All the other packages show tracking through Rochester NY shortly after, and this one doesn't.
I believe my buyer is honest. Once I refund, I consider the matter closed. I don't expect to be repaid. (It's nice if I am, but I don't expect that).
If it does get delivered months later (like that one parcel that took 6 months to go from NY to Maryland), I'll get a notification on my phone that it was delivered.

If it were a common cheap item I would just say that's life... but this was a stamp that I'll likely never see again (and it's the only one I've ever seen in my lifetime).
It was a domestic shipment, so no one knows what's in the package, or that it's valuable or rare.

This is merely a suggestion. I believe the quickest way for the USPS to find your package is to file an insurance claim. That way it will be researched with diligence by the USPS.

I use a shipper, I filed a claim with them. They contact USPS on my behalf because I live in Canada.

If you used Ground Advantage or Priority Mail you have a maximum $100 worth of coverage, so if it's missing long enough with no scan activity (I think 15 days minimum), a refund of your sale price and postage paid should be a slam dunk, as the USPS' own tracking will show that they had it, then they lost it.

Insurance is a bit tricky since I used a shipper. I did contact them and made a claim. We'll have to wait and see.
Wasn't so much posting because I wanted to complain about the refund, the issue that bugs me is how disappointed this buyer is to not get his stamp. Praying he doesn't leave me a negative (and I did everything I could to help, including keeping him in the loop with each response from the shipper). He left positives for his two other packages and seems to be happy with those stamps, so I guess that was a good buyer experience.
