Long time eBayer

Long, long time eBayer here, been with them since 1997, a charter member of Paypal too.  I use to see everything that was for sale on eBay scroll by, item by item, all on one page.  Those were the best buying days!  From coins, to paper and books, odd and valuable things too.  Missed those days for sure.

So being a member for 27 years, mostly selling, I have seen eBay corner us sellers, force many changes on us.  Raise prices and fees.  Hell, we have no income tax or sales tax here in New Hampshire but I am forced to pay fees on taxes in another state!  And all this "promotion" dung.  Quite the rigging.  I won't be around much longer so I guess it doesn't matter much but I resent the fact that eBay treats us sellers with such disrespect.  You would think they would try and help folks that were loyal to their platform.  Paypal gave us long term haulers stock options, maybe folks made out well.   eBay should give some consideration for 25+ years of loyalty.  Just my thoughts on all the outrageous fees and charges.  Hopefully I am around long enough to see it crumble.

Very cool handmade square--Early 19th C CABINET MAKER'S Square 12 x 24 J. S. & S. w/KINGS CROWN STAMPED

Did you want those photos of the Stanley square included? Looks like you reused a listing and forgot to remove the earlier photos. Cheers

Pardon me for saying but that sentiment does not exactly express loyalty, but to the contrary. Wishing ill on an institution one relies upon for income rather defeats the purpose.

i'm sure u know nothing has remained the same as it was 27 years ago.

eBay does not 'force' the changes on anyone bc all they have to do is leave or adjust.

Good Luck with sales!

Pretty sad to spend what time you have left being consumed with the hope of eBay failing.

I think we might get to see Temu, Shein and Chinese sellers(3rd party sellers) crumble by next year before anything else.

It would open the market for eBay and make it better.

I think I will stay around....

May as well take down your 15 items for sale, then.  I have been an Ebay buyer and seller since 1999 on my original account, and I am so happy changes were made

Yes, @ed8108 , what i should have added is that it is understandable to feel very wronged when one has invested so much personally in a business like the OP has, only to find the venue/landlord has seemingly no reciprocal interest.

The issue may be that eBay is governed by policies and bots. As such, it is often removed from specific human governance. It is a giant corporate behemoth that seems to not have the capacity to reciprocate.

There is no apparent loyalty program, and that does not appear to be a corporate goal.

We can always hope for better, but for now, it kinda is what it is for us sellers.

@12345jamesstamps just a reminder that ebays 3 largest markets are US, UK, and China (which replaced Germany as #3).

Japan used to be the largest market before China and Germany...

President elect might change the current market of China...LOL

The nerve of ebay making changes and raising the fees in 27 years.

They should have left the website as is and kept the fees the same.

Japan? I don't think so. I'm talking about ebay's actual sites: ebay.com, ebay.uk , etc, not US trading partners. ebay gets a lot of revenue from China, and if that revenue stream is closed off, it is likely ebay will make up for it elsewhere. Fee increases for us perhaps? So far, ebay has been able to avoid that by finding ways to make up for stagnant sales growth by continually increasing its ad revenue. I'm betting we'll start seeing ads on our store pages next year, especially if ebay's China revenue drops considerably. ebay has stated (during the Q3 Conference Call) that the Chinese sellers have been pushing hard to get stuff to the US and warehouse it before January, but they are clearly concerned about the long term prospects of Chinese tariffs.

Here's some good info:

I am talking about  who used to be the top exporter of goods in the world🌎 before China...and maybe before eBay was born....Guess I know too much about history and facts.

I love history and major in it in college.

Japan used to be a top exporter of goods to the USA long ago.

Not to get in politics...but president-elect was big time on Tik Tok...after winning he is not using it.

I am guessing China is on the cutting board as well as Tik Tok which also sells items now.

China was always in the market to be number one of exporting...and got there over the years with cheap labor and cheap shipping.
