Hi everyone, I sold an antique radio for local pickup only (very heavy and bulky) a couple of days ago. Someone bought it and paid for it immediately. I've been trying to get in contact with him (he did not email me) but he did not reply to my emails for organizing the pick-up. Moreover, the buyer has an address in Texas and I'm on the east coast, precisely 1,803 miles away from the address he listed on ebay. I doubt he will drive that far to get a $25 radio.
I did specify in my listing that the buyer had to pick up within a week. It's a bulky radio that I just want to get rid of to make room so I'm not looking for storing it, it was sold very cheap compared to the market just for a quick sale because I did not want to dispose of a working radio from the 40s, and I specified the item had to be picked up within a week that if the buyer could not pick up within a week they should not bid.
I think this situation is pretty weird and that could be why I can't find any help on a similar issue or any information from ebay about that. Any recommendation for what to do and how to handle this situation that would not cost me money or ebay reputation?

Buyers Do it all the time.
If it's local pickup only, I'd add that to the title.
Personally I just cancel issue with buyers address and relist.

If you don't hear from the buyer within a week, cancel the sale using "problem with address" and refund.
When you relist add LOCAL PICKUP ONLY to the listing title.
Buyers often don't read. They see free local pickup in small print in the shipping section and think it's free shipping. Adjusting your title will help deter some of that behavior.

...to which I would only add: put your state abbreviation in parentheses. Some buyers get into a local Craigslist mindset where they think that Local Pickup automatically means that you're in their town. 🙄

Your listing specifically gave the buyer a week to pick up the item, and the listing ended less than 2 days ago. Try to be patient.
As noted in the other post, if you don't hear from the buyer you can cancel based on "Problem with buyer's address" so you don't get a defect point. And as noted, when you relist you should put "PICKUP ONLY (MA)" in the title.
