Listings not getting as many views as before

My listings aren't seeming to reach as many people as it once did. Some of my listings had 200-400 views and now only accumulate up to about a a couple dozen by the time they expire. I haven't done anything different, I'm wondering why this may be.

Predominantly clothing and beauty products.

Did you cancel a transaction?  I see a neutral feedback from a buyer indicating that you did.  If you did cancel a transaction, depending on the reason for the cancellation, you may have a serious defect on your account that can place your items lower in search.

Re: Listings not getting as many views as before

Well I see 2 problems.

You say you sell “Predominantly clothing and beauty products.” I will admit I do not have any hard statistics to back this up, but judging by the comments I have seen Oh So Many posters make, clothing is an oversaturated field. Unless you have something absolutely Truly Unique there are just too many sellers for the number of buyers present. Sales are doomed to decline.

Secondly you said “I haven't done anything different,” That is your other problem.

When I first started I was selling what woodworkers call Turning Squares. Exotic piece of wood about 1” square by about 12” long. Woodworkers put them on a lathe and turn them into candle sticks. But then I noticed sales were flattening out, so I started selling other things. Today I have over 11,000 listings across more categories than I have room here to name.

I am not saying you need to go that route. But it would help to know why are you here?

Are you just looking to empty your closets? Or are you here to run a business and make a living? If the second then you can not just keep doing the same thing over and over. You will get left behind. Diversify.

I've noticed a drop in views as well . However I've also noticed  that the lack in views  are on the type of items I've already sold quite a few of already . I guess that could mean that the people who are interested in what I sell  may have already purchased  them .  The supply of interested parties may be dwindling . Whenever I add a new theme or one I haven't done in awhile  they  get more views than the rest. I'm always doing research  and trying to think up new styles in the jewelry I make ,, but it's getting harder to come up  with new ideas . Tulips

I've always been impressed with the new ideas you come up with~smart, in sync, and creative.  Like the Nutcracker ones because of the movie.

Could be a number of factors. If you are relisting the same items over and over without making any sales, that could drop items lower in Search. Stale listings with no sales are said to do this. I've seen new sellers do well the first few months here and as time goes on, fewer sales take place. It could be that newbies get a bump in Search by eBay. But how are your sales? Are you just concerned about the number of views, or do you feel you have lower sales because you have lower views?

Are you tweaking your listings between relists? It is said that can help with keeping your listings fresh and higher in Search. I noticed you start your brand new items off with the words "Brand New" in the title. Since eBay puts Brand New directly under the title, you can drop those words from the titles and then use that space to put in more info about the item. For Example, the Apt 9 sandals should include the descriptor "Flip Flops" in the title. Also, some of your descriptions have no information about the item but are filled with your terms of sales, which i would urge you to thin out substantially if not drop completely. In its place, put measurements, which are important to include in clothing listings.

I would also look carefully at some of your pricing. The new Tommy Hilfiger pajama set, for example, is priced at $40. I can find it on Amazon for under $25. Or the pre-owned Yves Saint Laurent necktie for $40 when you can find them all over eBay for under $20.

I'm sure you get my drift here. I think you will find your views and of course, sales, will improve with careful scrutiny and subsequent strategic changes to your listings.

Could be any number of reasons. Changes in taste, changes in buying habits, changes in competition (both here and elsewhere), supply and demand, etc.

That being said ...

I searched for your Hugo Red 1.3 oz listing. There are 10 other sellers listng this item on eBay around your price point, and one of them is a recognized volume seller (Overstock.com) with a multi-quanitity listing.

Most of those sellers have an advantage over you because they put the items UPC number in the item specifics - so their listings have a 5 gold star rating right in the search results (yours doesn't), and when buyers look at a a competing listing theirs is probably shown as a comparison (whereas yours is probably not).

So it may not anything you have done, but rather something that you have not done that other sellers are doing.
