Hello,
I have over 100 different piano player rolls and I really do not want to list these individually. I'm hoping I can make one listing with a drop down menu that allows to choose which song or piano roll. offering a buyer a quantity discount as well. Every time I think I find a solution it seems it is an old solution that doesn't work any longer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Bill

Create new listing and then click on VARIATIONS and enter name of different piano rolls. There is a maximum as to how many items you can include in one listing.

…. assuming the category allows variations. I don't believe every category does.

Although it's more work, I wouldn't list that way- too difficult to 'find' what you are selling without a song title. Maybe list 5 together as a single 'lot type listing'. 1 price, buys you 'these 5 titles'?

Question for anyone here. If you have one listing under a generic title like Piano Rolls and then list the individual titles using the variations strategy then are those specific titles searchable using default search methods?
I mean I know you can check the box for a detailed search that will include subtitles and descriptions but would that be required in order to find a specific title if it is listed under a variation method?

The variations format is not available in the main subcategory for player piano rolls (within Musical Instruments & Gear > Vintage Musical Instruments > Vintage Pianos & Keyboards > Pianos), but it does show up under Music > Other formats. The variations option really isn't intended for offering different titles.
Setting up separate listings wouldn't be a lot of trouble if you use "Sell similar. " Whether in separate listings or in variations, you still have to enter each item's title, images etc.

Do you have multiples of the same song or do you have many different songs?
If you have many multiples of the same song, i would say a variations listing is the way to go.
If you have many different songs (1 each) i would list them individually.

Yes, Just like using colors as variations of T Shirt......
If people search for blue T shirt.........the blue variation of the listing will show up.......if they search for red,......the red variation will show up........ the drop down menu will show all titles..........
