Listing a PS5

So I am trying to list a pre order for a PS5, It let me list it but now I am trying to go back in to modify it and am getting this error

It looks like there's a problem with this listing. For products that are in high demand, we limit who can sell these items prior to the release date and how many items they may offer. This is to prevent situations where a seller may offer an item that they are unable to acquire. At this time, we cannot allow you to list this item. But we invite you to relist when you can guarantee delivery within 30 days of the sale.

My listing has all of the requirements and yet won't let me update

you might not be able to revise the listing, but it is active (so is the Xbox X1)--all the way up to the payment page if you click "buy now"...but I didn't click on actually making the payment (I'll wait until prices come down). looks like it's not blocked, though.

@gtdenterprise

You MUST ship within 30 days of the sale. If you can not do that then you are violating ebay policy and risking your selling account.

But I put in the listing I would ship within 30 days of the sale. That's where I am getting confused.

Selling an item you don't have is risky.   Your selling account can be suspended for life if you have to cancel much more than once when you can't fill a paid order.  Beware....

It's never, ever a good idea to list an item that you don't actually have in your hands. There's too much of a risk of something going wrong.

As a personal example, years ago, I preordered the physical collector's edition for Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward. Well, it turned out that the first copy they shipped me was damaged, so I needed to return it for a replacement. What would you do if something like that happened to you?

aside from what others have said, Both Sony and Microsoft started new campaigns limiting pre-orders for the new gen consoles few months ago, in effort to try and curb marketplace (so Ebay as well) price gouging their systems. Notices went out to all major vendors (Gamestop, Best Buy, Walmart, Target, Amazon...) few months ago from both companies about this. Not sure if marketplaces were notified about it. The new Xbox retail is 499.99 which your listing for 999.99.

The great truth is there isn't one
And it only gets worse since that conclusion...

Lol ridiculous that no one answered your question. I managed to snag a disc version and a digital version, and I would like to sell the disc version now. I'm really **bleep** at eBay for making it so hard to do that. I'm not a scalper with 10 PS5s. I'm just taking advantage of being able to sell one of the ones I was able to get for some profit - WHICH IS THE POINT OF EBAY.

eBay sent you a message stating clearly and definitivelt that they have decided to limit who can sell that item. IMHO there is nothing confusing about that.

You were lucky enough to get a listing added before that policy was put in place. But eBay is not going to let you edit that listing, because if they did that would give you the opportunity to increase the quanitity and thus circumvent their restriction on selling more of them.

In case you are not aware, the eBay user agreement that you agreed to says this:

"We reserve the right to refuse, modify, or terminate all or part of our Services to anyone for any reason at our discretion."

NO ITEM LISTINGS.JPG

Hello.

It sounds like your pre order for a PS5 listing (that you don't actually have a PS5 in your possession to sell) falls under the No Item Listings Policy.

If you eventually get one in your possession, then Ebay says you can list it for sale.

Good luck!
