For those of you who sell on eBay, do you know if there is a great difference in the chance of your item selling when you use stock photos of your shoes from Nike, Adidas, and Under Armor instead of taking your own photos?

Most shoe sellers prefer to take pics of the actual shoes to avoid any hassles from the company, and also to highlight any specific areas of the shoes to show wear or other particulars.

I imagine there would be a great difference in the chance of the item(s) being returned for a refund if a seller uses stock photos instead of actual photos. In the case of Authentication, eBay might just deny that, too.

Thanks for the feedback! Most of the shoes I sell are brand new with no defects, so I would hope I won't have this problem.

You appear to be suggesting people use stock photos, which is generally a bad idea. On the other hand, since you have all those brand new shoes at such low prices I guess they won't have to go through authentication, so I suppose photos matter less.

Ya, in my experience it's my opinion that stock photos look more professional which is why I try to use them when I can.

Yes, I am aware that stock photos often look better than my own.

They might look nicer with a stock photo, but they can also be called out as NOT AS DESCRIBED if the are pre owned. Take your own photos of the item you are selling or you are setting your self up for mucho returns. Just a suggestion and thanks for your post.
Happy New Year.

That is great advice, thank you so much! I'll definitely take my own photos if the item is pre-owned.

so I would hope I won't have this problem.

If you use photos from the manufacturer or lifted from other websites without permission as "stock" photos, you could find yourself in trouble for this on eBay and in the courts.

Don't be lazy. Take your own pictures. It WILL bite you in the $^%% at some point if you don't.
