Listing End Time Different by Minutes

A recent auction I had finished oddly and there was about a 35 minute difference between my original email and the time finished in the sold notification. I was watching the end and it went into a spin mode and could not get to the complete screen. The listing originally showed up in my unsold folder and I relisted it. Got the sold notification about 90 minutes after auction ended. I had 34 watchers on it and no bids last 2 days before ending. Does that seem really fishy? Cancelled sale and got my first negative in about 20 years. Was I right?

Perhaps your computer's clock is off or there was some sort of interruption to your Internet service causing the delay in your getting the sold message.  I'm curious as to why you canceled the sale when you received the notification?

Are you saying that someone won the auction fair and square according to eBay rules, and you canceled because you did not agreree with the end time or the speed of the sold notification?

If that is the case then IMHO there is nothing fishy, you are obsessing over minutia, and a negative would be a reasonable expectation.

eBay had this problem of putting sold auctions in the unsold or ended list with the relist option on Feb. 29th and again on March 31st.  There are other discussions about this.  Eventually the item gets correctly moved to Sold.  I think you should contact the auction winner to see if the item is still wanted, and if so, end the relisted item and complete the original auction.  eBay should remove the negative feedback as eBay erroneously indicated the auction ended and could be relisted.

@gearyvet No you were not right and received the correct FB to carry for a year now. Canceling a transaction should be the last and final solution. Watchers are never a sign of bids. Of course your buyer was angry, they did nothing wrong here. Plus that negative looks awful on your account because it makes you look like a scam seller. Really a shame that you acted impulsively here. Best of luck to you....

The listing that sold ended correctly. Look at the time stamp on the bids page. You had a valid winner and should not have canceled.

The relisted item was ended early by you.

You should not have cancelled the first sale.

I do agree that ebay is screwing this sold / unsold thing up.

You MAY be able to get some help from ebay because of their glitch..Good Luck

I cannot think of any reason as to "why" you cancelled just because the time was different and you where not notified within the time you expected. Can you explain why you think that is a valid reason to cancel?
