Anyone else listing an item on auction or in store and then it duplicates itself into one more, or multiples with seperate listing id numbers. I called Ebay girl says Oh yeah I think I saw something about that. She then says i'll note that but it may take awhile to be fixed. So i ask so what do I do, she says well just go in and end the multiple listings yourself. I then ask am i being charged a fee for those multiple listings that YOUR system is duplicating and she says yes. but just write down all the duplicate listing numbers and at the end of the month call back and we'll see if we can credit you back for those listings. I then say i got kicked off Ebay for a week a couple years ago for a dublicate listing violation how do i know this won't happen again, she says i'll try and put a note on your account so it won't happen again but can't guarantee it. So their system is screwed up and they don't seem to care and then put eveything on me. What the hell is going on with Ebay are they purposely trying to get us to leave

Apparently this has been going on for a long time, like this lawsuit from 2009--from another news site;

"eBay sellers recently complained about a duplicate-listing problem on the site, and eBay confirmed over the weekend that it was working to resolve a bug that caused its system to list some listings in duplicate and said it would credit sellers who were charged extra as a result of the bug."

Some people have recommended that for sellers with many listings like you, to use a free online duplicate scanner by shipscript.

@alifeinthepastlane- are listings being duplicated on .com or are duplicates being created and posted on international sites?

Another convenient "glitch" that causes money to flow in ebay's direction. Sales and search are suffering, so ebay comes up with a way to grab money from sellers and calls it a bug. Sure, they'll credit you the fees back if you do the legwork, but they know many sellers won't. Even if they do issue a credit, those fees have already been counted and added to ebay's bottom line. Pumping those 3rd quarter numbers already.

It was a banner ad on top of ebay pages a while back. The advertisement said that they would promote your listings internationally for free or some such. If you clicked on the banner to perhaps find out more, you were aotomatically enrolled in a program that was only "free" for a while before the paying subscriptin stated and some undesirable consequences commenced.

@alifeinthepastlane eBay should be AUTOMATICALLY crediting the FVFs ... you should NOT have to copy the item numbers and phone in to get credit. THAT is ridiculous ...

I use a site called Ebay Duplicate Listing Finder every night.

Every night there is a duplicate listing.

I have been having the same problem of duplicating items for a week. I have called so many times and put on hold for a long to correct the issue, but never got corrected. The worst part is that when you use your free listing, it also reduced the available free listing by 2 at a time, instead of 1. Then my account was frozen due to too many duplications. Yesterday after I called and talked to customer service again for a long long time, I was told everything is taken care of and start listing, thus I listed an item and it again duplicated and the issue is not resolved.

This is pitiful when you are on the phone for 1/2 a day trying to resolve the isse and no one knows what is happening.

Has anyone found the solution to this problem!!!
