As a seller I post the same amount of items every day. I also get my packages out “next day”. I don’t do these things on weekends or holidays. So my question is should I be listing and shipping weekends and holidays? Pros/cons? Also, since usps is closed today here in California in honor of Lincoln’s birthday (I can’t get my packages out even though it’s a Monday) should I still print the shipping labels and just take the packages in in tomorrow morning?
Thank you

@priscilla_simpson Its next week ... here's 10 years worth of observed Holidays (starting last year) ... ALL yellow blocks are Monday holidays where Post Offices and Banks are closed ...

1.) Post office is NOT closed because of Lincolns Birthday (They are closed next Monday 1/21 for 'Presidents' day)
2.) "Next Day" does NOT included weekends holidays (regarding ebay shipping time)
3.) You can print labels on Saturday morning (for example) and change the 'shipping date' to a Monday and take them in to the PO that Monday

Whether you list or ship items on Saturdays is entirely up to you, assuming you are meeting your shipping deadlines.
Whether you print labels the day before you ship is entirely up to you (assuming you accurately reflect the actually shipping date on the label).
I am on weekly payouts that are done on Tuesdays, so I like to printed all my labels on Monday just to ensure the money is taken from available funds and not from my bank account. But that is purely my own personal preference.

@luckythewinner I prefer to print labels from weekend sales (Saturday noon to Monday night) on Tuesday morning after the Monday bank closing Holiday and after eBay has sent the Payout from Available funds. That way it minimizes the amount they will hold for another week for monies that did not get processed from Processing to Available due to the Bank closing Monday holidays. Per the chart I posted previously on this thread that means 6-8 times a year on average they hold funds for an additional week due to Monday bank closing Holidays ... but you are right, every Seller can print their labels when they want in regards to Monday bank closing Holidays.

@priscilla_simpson On a side note I personally LOVE Lincoln's Birthday ... but then I could be considered biased in that regard ... just wish I could get the cards with money twice a year instead of once ...

As others pointed out, great day to celebrate and remember Lincoln, but not a postal holiday for USPS.
We do ship and process orders daily, regardless of whether USPS or Fedex is open, etc. I think customers "Expect" it and appreciate it.
If a Buyer purchases over the weekend, we want to have it processed and label printed for Monday AM delivery to USPS.
We get very few cancellations by doing it that way. Ymmv
