Ah, the ever changing Ebay buyers. Lately, I'm getting
a lot of request from buyers, wanting low-ball or insulting offers
on my already lowest listed price. Request aren't from my make
an offer listings. Here is my latest inquiry from buyer wanting my item. I would appreciate any feedback 🙂 Post is from buyer.

Hi, I like this outfit, would be nice for a wedding I'm attending in June. However, I feel that it is somewhat overpriced for a used item, especially considering the shipping costs. Name brands don't impress me, certain styles do, so I could get new in a similar style for not much more.
I understand the bay has fees which cut into your profit margin but this just seems a bit much. Forty plus your shipping fees would be acceptable. If interested, please let me know. Thanks, Susan

Ignore and block.
I get lowball offers all the time, and I am a lowballer myself.
However, I don't like lowballers with a bad attitude.

eBay now encourages buyers & sellers to bargain the price. it even added a "reply with offer" button to its "Message" system, it wasnt like this befoe, it used to have terms like this:
If the "Make Offer" button does not appear on the listing, the seller is not interested in receiving offers and you should not try to contact this seller through other means to negotiate price or terms. This is a violation of eBay’s Offers to Buy or Sell Outside eBay policy

I agree. If a seller does not have a make an offer listing, he is obviously not interesting in taking offers, so asking imo is bad form.
In the past it was a reportable offense.

Buyers are crafty! The email you received is nothing more than the converse of what sellers do to spruce up their own items!!
Thin skinnies would probably advise immediate trip to the BBL for even the slightest stink-eye glance, let alone an email showing interest in an item. Guess that's easier than returning that interest with respect, manners, and a polite "no thank you".
Derby Day! My Mint is limp!

This couldn't be more off topic, but since I've read a plethora of derby posts from you lately I just had to add one myself.
I hate horse races---especially muddy ones. I won't watch and I just hold my breath that I don't hear the news stories describing the awful scene of horses going down, breaking legs, and being euthanized. It's a terrible "sport" in my opinion. I think the ladies in the hats should run around the track instead.

Yes, we've been getting more than usual too. We consider it low ball if it's less than half of what we're asking. A couple weeks ago we actually got a $10 offer on a $300 item!
But we consider this a good thing. We add low-ballers to our block list figuring they are difficult buyers and we really don't want to deal with them. So there's that 🙂

What a lousy way of haggling. In that message alone - belies the basic nature of the sender.
Ignore + BBL.
Do PM me ... I want to add to my own BBL.

Final straw for me watching the Derby is when Barbaro went down. Truly, broke my heart!
That poor horse went through too much after the injury. Owners should have done the human
thing and euthnized the horse from severe pain. I'm not for euthanizing...unless, its the last object possible. I haven't watch another derby since that tragic race day. Feel the same way about racing innocent Greyhounds. My post is off tipic as well. Thanks for being animal supporter for ethical
treatment. I'm animal lover and rescue dogs from kill shelters. We're the Voic for the Animals.
I like animals better than most humans!

I've been getting (polite) requests from customers recently, always on sewing patterns.
I just explain that my prices include shipping and that I ship from Canada which raises my costs.
So far, I haven't lost a sale. But anecdote is not data.
