It's been 6 days since I've seen a sale, what's going on at EBAY ? I realize what the state of the economy is in and it is only going to get worse under the present administration. Many of my items are under what it cost to ship them, add to that , EBAY's exorbitant fees and you have no sales I guess.

The Fed and postal service aren't that independent, they are both still governed by congress. Biden nominated Yellen as treasury secretary, who's been on a parade of raising interests rates all year.
Whether Biden has the power or not to change anything with the postal service is irrelevant. He is the president, its his job to address serious issues like this, which he clearly has not done.
Both parties are too busy blaming each other to even realize the postal service is destroying the entire economy. But lets raise interest rates while we're at it. Where is the logic in that?
The Fed is trying to cool inflation while the postal service is making it 10X worse.

True dat. Same song and dance for every person who talks about no sales for days.

@axiombody As a buyer what did Ebay do to prevent me from buying your stuff?
11-12-2022 03:40 PM
ebay cut the traffic for many sellers, that's what they did to keep buyers from purchasing our stuff. You cannot buy something if you don't know it exists.

Name an item that you have listed that you say is hidden to I can verify your facts.

My traffic data doesn't lie, ebay cut all the traffic to my store. 8 to 10 organic views a day is ridiculous for having such an enormous inventory as I do. I have 1,573 listings at present, the majority of which haven't had a single view since they were listed according to ebay.
Go and search for any DVD, you name it, its the same 20 sellers on every page of search results, with some taking up multiple spots on the first page.
I have tons of classic westerns for sale. Go search western dvds, tell me how many of mine show up, literally zero.

As much as I agree with you about lack of visibility on eBay, I decided to check your situation. I put "Raiders of the West" DVD in my search & yours was the 2nd listing I saw.

However! It is important to note I only saw 2 posted. I should check others some time.

Our sales dropped to zero 6 days ago, nov 6th last sale. Normally we would see 30 sales in that time period. Im sure its just a coincidence.. not.

There may have been some nervousness about the elections this week, but the media have not been covering the economy very accurately.
5.7% growth
3.6% unemployment.
Stock market up 3500
stores full
, cheap medication, 230m vaxxed,
NATO united,
647,000 manufacturing jobs,
12 million jobs,
inflation dropping,
gas prices dropping
Just awful, ain't it?

Ebay has lost 15 million Active Buyers since Jan 2022. Worldwide eBay only has 138 million Active Buyers. Ebay upper management is trying to push out Sellers who sell "used" low end items. Ebay is trying to gain "High End" (which they call "enthusiast buyers") buyers who spend money for high end Watches, Sneakers, Jewelry and Trading Cards. Ebay wants to lose the reputation for being an online garage sale and gain the image of a "High End" new item retailer.

But look at the overall search results for each term you type. When it comes to DVD's, ebay is stuffing search results with tons of listings from a handful of sellers. One media dealer seems to take up as many as 10 spots on a single page with DVD's, which is ridiculous. ebay is clearly funneling traffic to those they choose and throwing the rest out with the bath water.

Alphastreet infographic has some well laid out insights, 27% drop in active users since Q1 2021. Revenue thought they have maintained only a small loss. Guess due to added promo fees. I would guess they are redirecting traffic to top sellers trying to boost GMV. But only a guess. Feels very recessionish.

In the past I very seldom if ever agreed with your analysis of what's been happening with ebay. On what you've been saying for the last few month's or so I have to agree with you. I have been making less money every year now for the last 5 years. I have made about 25% of what I made this time last year. This has nothing to do about the economy, this is ebay.

ebay really has gone down hill, sales are definitely not what they once were for me either. Things got so bad here this year that I started selling on alternate platforms, which has made a huge difference in terms of getting sales moving again.
Just this week I sold 2 games on Mercari just minutes after being posted that were listed for sale on ebay for over 2 years!
There's a lot of factors negatively affecting ebay right now too, including their public image (ebay execs being sent to prison for harassing journalists), poor leadership and terrible mismanagement, a lack of functionality and innovation, the consolidation of categories, service metrics designed to ensure every seller fails, a broken payment system, a user interface that looks like something out of 1995, increasing fees while not properly investing in marketing, funneling the majority of traffic to a tiny handful of mega sellers, essentially alienating the rest as a result just to name a few.
ebay's leadership is entirely focused on increasing revenue thru fees, all while cutting marketing budgets, and not taking into account the fact their revenues are dependent on the success of their sellers. Actions speak louder than words and ebay has made it very clear they do not care about their sellers at all, much less the long term success of this platform.
If ebay continues on the path its currently on, it will absolutely fail. ebay's market share of e-commerce dropped to just 3.5% as of June this year, that alone says a lot.
Back in the summer of 2015 I was pulling $1,000 weeks here, I would never count on that happening again.
