LISTINGS: How to turn off "Automaticaly Updated" under "We recommend these item specifics"?

This is driving me crazy. I list a lot of sport cards and ebay is constantly adding wrong information to fields such as the card number, manufactured location and other stuff.  I'm able to update the selection to something different but there's no way to just leave the category blank without a selection. Does anyone know how to turn this off?

Thanks,

Nate

I have not noticed that happening to me yet. Just one more ebay "improvement" to be on the lookout for.

So far, you can't.   Supposedly, if you CHANGE the misinformation 'back' it is supposed to stick.   This has not been going on for very long, so no telling.

Word is, they are not supposed to be going in and revising  and adding (incorrectly) item specifics in already existing listings, but I would look carefully at any 'roll overs' or 'auto relists'.

The bots are "pulling" words in your title to use for the "we have fixed these for you" item specifics nonsense.

Right, I'm able to change the information to something else, but I can't leave the drop down blank. Example: a lot of cards I have do not have actual #s or numbers. They have other types of numbers such as #MM-BB which is never an option. So I'd rather leave the card number filed blank, however ebay tosses in something random like 2018 which is the date from card in my listing. I cannot change the # to blank because they force me to select something other than what they prepopulate.

That problem I did notice. There used to be the option of a "-" when there was no number.

The only solution I came up with is look at the list of all the cards in the set (on Beckett) and pick the corresponding number in the list. (If it's the fourth card in the list I put in #4)

Not an ideal solution, but the only option I know of at this point.

Yeah, I wish they would just have the "-" option available.

I cannot change the # to blank because they force me to select something other than what they prepopulate.

They are using a new program called "automatic extraction of aspects" from title and filling in item specifics. This will often populate 'blank' ones, and 'change' your selections to something else not related to your actual item.

eBay is supposed to add a choice (look for it under your title when creating your listing) to turn this off.  It will be "on" by default.   It should help with snagging information from your title and filling in specifics incorrectly, but don't know if it will affect leaving something "blank" when selecting "off".

Awesome, I'd think I'd rather have it turned off an just manually add what I want. Hopefully the feature is out soon. Thanks

And why the heck did they take "autograph" out of card attributes? It's now under "modified item", which makes sense when you get a card autographed in person. But if it comes out of the pack autographed, that's not a modified item.
