As of February 22 2022, all coin dealers were to have added KM numbers to their coins in Item Specifics that were being sold on eBay. There was no explanation of why eBay initiated this policy. How or is eBay going to administer the policing of this policy that has severe consequences, since the majority of coin dealers on eBay have not added the KM Numbers in the Item Specifics by the 2/22/2022 deadline?
eBay Policy: "You can add these new item specifics (including KM Numbers for all coins) now as you list. After February 22, you won’t be able to publish new, relisted, or revised listings in the above categories without the required item specifics."

As mentioned earlier, no one can see the eBay message you've linked because it's your private eBay message account.
At the OP's request:
"It would be nice if someone within the eBay corporation would step in and make a clarification of this issue, but I don't see that happening."
Could someone on the Community Team provide some further information on whether KM numbers are (or will be) considered a required item specific, as suggested by the OP, or are those KM numbers an optional item specific, as suggested by other posters?
Thanks!

The orange sentence does not say the KM number is required; it only mentions the new item specifics.
The blue sentence does not say the KM number is required; it only mentions required item specifics.
And other posters here have stated that the KM number is not required.
