Hi-- It is almost 1:00 A.M. 11-18-2018. I can't sleep and I checked my eBay account. Message from eBay that an item I sold 11-15-2018 and shipped 11-16-2018 is being "cancelled" as an unauthorized transaction. It is a weekend, of course. No eBay help, no USPS help. I guess Monday ! will call USPS to try to get it back. I think there is a hefty fee for this. Will I be reimbursed by eBay ? If I cannot get it back, what do I do ? I feel whatever happens I am being penalized for shipping as soon as I could. It is not a very expensive item and any additional cost could make it a loss. This is the first time this has happened to me. I know some will say "Cost of doing business" but did everythiong I was supposed to.

No need to panic!!!!!
If you sent the package to the address provided with the payment and have at least an acceptance scan from USPS you will win any Unauthorized Use claim. A delivery scan is not required.
You may have a hold on the funds for a period of time but you will not lose as long as you provide the requested information.
It's also possible that no formal claim will ever be made and you'll never hear anything again.

I would call up eBay and explain this, to me, it sounds like a compromised buyer account, and if that's the case, I would heavily insist that eBay covers whatever losses you might end up taking on it. How easy it will be to get them to do the right thing is a roll of the dice, sometimes you get a good rep who fixes you up without a problem, but sometimes you get a lousy rep who only knows how to talk about the cost of business or about how "eBay is a like a building and can't be respinsible"
With PayPal, if this is a case opened with them, or through the buyer's financial institute., you should give them a ring.
With PayPal, as long as you ship to the address on file, you should be protected. All you really need to do is provide the tracking and it takes care of it'self.

i-- I did mail to paypal ( and eBay) address. I have acceptance scan and receipt as well as further scans showing movement. I also looked up the payor/sendee's address (it is a business). It has the same address I sent to. I guess I just have to wait to see what happens next. Thank you for the wisdom and encouragement. I was starting to despair, but you made me feel better !!!!

99% of these are credit card companies doing it as a faulty saftey feature or parents not putting the blame on their kids for ordering stuff...or braindead consumers just not recognizing the charge
I wouldn't worry too much about it unless a paypal case opens.
