I am in the middle of dealing with the worst buyer I have had in 20 years as a seller. She left unwarranted nasty feedback without contacting me first. She went through ebay to get her return. Then she waits an additional 10 days to send it back to me. I try reaching out to her regarding her feedback...she calls me a stalker. She says I am slandering her. ??? What?? Her public feedback of me is liable. Not true. She keeps it going sending me emails ...then says I am stalking her. Her big problem was the doll was not connected to the box. I never said it was connected. Selling on ebay isn't worth this kind of aggravation. I am just glad that 99% of my buyers are good honest people. How would you deal with a buyer like this? Have you had a few too many Karens?

If this was the Marilyn in red dress, it should never have been listed as 'brand new'. A brand new (even an older doll) would have been connected to the box plus your doll obviously was missing the shoes.
So sick of people calling people "karens" when they're justified in their disappointment.

Unfortunately, there is nothing to do about the Karens. They are just locked in to the bitterness.
Look at the positive things:
1. You got the doll back! (In original condition, I hope, and not damaged)
2. It is one negative out of countless positives. (I know, seeing that red minus sign REALLY stings!)
3. After a year, it will be gone from your main feedback page.
If they are sending you nasty e-mails, you can report them to customer service.
Venting about it helps! We have all been there in one form or another!

I never said the doll was connected to the box. The box was sealed. Is she justified leaving a nasty negative feedback before even trying to work it out with the seller:? I would accept the return. I see from the pictures she took the doll out. It really doesn't even look like the doll.

This ebay member was not a newbie. He/She seems to be accurate in her feedback as NIB means just that. If you want to be successful selling i would make sure your accurate with every detail. People who collect dolls will check everything. From the plastic on the outside of the box to the box to every piece of the doll. I know my wife collects them. Learn from this one education is never cheap. Wish you luck with your future sales.

Had the shoes fallen off inside the box? Your picture looks like none are on her feet.

100% your fault. You described the item as UNOPENED. The doll should be attached to the box .
How does that happen?

"There was some dust on the outside of box. Most of which was wiped off."
Why didn't you wipe off all of the dust on the outside of the box?

You sold something that was not new as new. You have to live with the consequences. A new doll would be connected to the box. A new doll wouldn't be missing her shoes. A new doll wouldn't be dusty. Seems like a justified negative. Why do you claim libel?

1% of your customers are going to give you 99% of your problems. One never knows what the customers intentions are with the product they purchace from you. If they are brokering the item, they are going to want it perfect. If they are giving it as a gift, they are going to want it perfect. If they are adding it to their discriminating collection, they are going to want it perfect. As has been previously mentioned, you received the item back in the same condition it was shipped out in. One negative FB cannot undo all of your positive ones. "This, too, shall pass".

Not only that, but the DUST was old. When the buyer claimed it had a coding (sic) that's what usually happens when dust has been damp and then dried, so yes, the box should have been cleaned properly, not just a quick 'wiping'.
I've seen it myself at in person sales, where it's one of those types of boxes that's been stored (badly) for years.

What is this "stock photo" in the item for sale? Never put photos with other photos. Some buyers can't read and only see photos. I thought I would be getting 2 different dolls...if I weren't smart. Just an opinion.
I can't believe the buyer returned the item...it's so cool. Gee, I have to dust every week where I live.
My wife is a big Barbie collector...and collectors know rubber bands and such do not age well unopened in the box and break in the box and things get lose. 27 years and she expects it to be perfect. A doll in the box can actually get color of clothing on the doll for that many years. Most collectors never open boxes and sell them "as is".
My wife does these month of the week special events to remind me of special days. LOL

Exactly. I have some Barbies to list and one of them has clearly been opened despite having been put back into the box. How can I tell? Because it's not attached to the box the way the other ones are.

I see no stock photos in "the OP's listing". Perhaps eBay was showing you a different listing.
