Just curious how all the new changes that Ebay is implementing will affect other sellers.

I have been here since 2001 with 100% positive feedback, but will be closing my shop January 1, 2019.  No hard feelings, but it is time for this little fish to move on 🙂

It has clearly effected a lot of sellers.  Seems like every other day a great seller is leaving.  Sorry to see another one go. Best regards

I am sorry that you are leaving eBay.  Best wishes on your new endeavors, where ever they take you.

I have been an eBay member since 2005 and selling since 2012.  So far, so good for me.  I have made several changes to my business model this year to adapt to the recent changes.  I only sell one type of item on eBay and it falls into categories that have not been affected (yet) by the product catalog.  I am still having the old shipping label page open automatically, so have not (yet) had to deal with the problems I have seen other posters speak about.  I feel very fortunate that my buyers are awesome people, honest and great communicators.  No returns, no SNAD items, no fraud and lots of positive feedback.

I never expected to make the money that I have made selling on eBay.  I went into it with the thought of, give it a try and see how it goes.  Six years later, I am still here and will keep on keeping on as long as buyers keep buying my items and are happy with their purchases.

I've been selling on ebay for 18+ years When I started buyers paid with Money orders and paper checks. If you felt the need, You held the check till it cleared and then shipped. Might take 2 weeks before you shipped and the buyers never complained..

Business was good and whatever I listed would sell fairly quick. The collectibles I offered in 2000 can be purchased today for about 20 cents on the dollar, or less.

The biggest problem I had back then, Non paying bidders. At least you could Neg their time wasting butts, and they'd be Narued if they kept doing it.

All of these changes that have so many leaving EBAY are the same kind of thing that we've dealt with since, well forever.

As sellers, we've always adapted to Ebays goofy ideas and as sellers we've always adapted.

The internet and ebay have changed since 2000 Ebay will continue to evolve and hopefully the changes will become the new normal, and things will pick back up.

We adapt. If ebay tanks and closes the doors (Which I've seen predicted almost daily for 18 years) we'll adapt. We can't control ebay. They will do what they think is best without consulting us.

Don't give up, We old time sellers have seen it all and most of are still here.

All the best to you. I started selling on ebay early enough that people paid by check or cash in the mail. Anytime they got too complex to list on, I leave and come back in a few years with a new id. They always come to a more sensible model after awhile on the latest, lets make life complex in this department yay, craze. But this is still the best selling stream for my hobbies, so here I will stay. All that to say, feel free to come back later.

yes my sales have tanked. i have done all ebay has asked including free returns, 1 day shipping, free shipping on many items and promoting listings.  nothing helps i used to do 1200 to 2200 a month last month it was only 1100 and this month is starting off worse. ive had only about 50 dollars in sales in 5 days.  i have been selling on ebay for at least 6 years my feedback has always been super good i ship fast but now i have no sales and no help from ebay.

it is very sad for me.

Quick tip:  Make that December 31, 2018.  End of the tax year.

I'll close up mid-December like I always have but I'm not planning on returning in January as I always have.  Hmmmm, just realized, may have to do that in November to avoid any 2019 fees/payments/etc.  I do not intend to file a Schedule C pertaining to ebay ever again after 2018's.

Note to self:  Close store in November so I don't get charged for January, 2019.  Oh, so much to do and pre-prepare !

Disclaimer:  This is my plan, my dream, my fervent wish, but it is not as firmly set in stone as I want it to be.
