I have been selling on EBay for quite a while now. I just don't understand how so many people have so many problems on here.  Follow the rules accept the changes and move on. Everything is pretty much cut and dry. Ebay will get their cut and if you follow the rules you will get yours.

There aren’t to many problems selling 1000 pieces of cardboard. So I can understand why you don’t understand.

Me either. Yeah there are a lot of scams and such and very possible to get burned, but most of the trouble being posted about is because of lack of knowledge or user error. There are some problems users report that I have never heard of ever happening or could even imagine how a scammer or other person could have possibly done what’s being claimed but I guess anything IS possible even though it’s highly unlikely to occur.

Unfortunately, as soon as you do say something positive someone will feel obliged to post something negative. More and more we are seeing sellers posting snarky personal digs. So the rest of us just move on and continue to live life with a smile.

I wish it was cut and dry.  It is not.  Constant abuse of policy by ebay itself.  Rules only work if they are implemented fairly and equally in a marketplace.  Ebay does not do so.   Further they let personal feeling judge what is acceptable not policy.  Further ebays cut is insane and very bloated.  Selling on ebay is not a problem dealing with ebay very much is.

Just wait until you have a day when eBay cannot get your account verified, even though it has been for a year, resulting in threats to withhold payments, a Chinese customer cancels a bid, another Chinese customer pays only $3.82 to ship a package to him due to my failure to figure out the opaque new method of setting up international shipping for International First Class Package in the new listing tool, and eBay fails to "track" eBay Envelopes resulting in 8 uploaded but not "scanned" by USPS, which will reduce my rating to "above average" unless eBay soon agrees to give us credit for items delivered by the buyer but not documented properly. This all in one day. Hope you have a good one.

Sounds like the person with these issues should just quit selling on Ebay!!!

Ebay envelope is insured up to 20 dollars if your item doesnt show delivered and a claim is filed you will receive your money back I leave feedback for those items once buyer leaves feedback that way i can tell if it was delivered even if it doesnt show delivered some buyers just dont leave feedback so I just let ride until 30 days and then archive it and consider it done. Dont sweat it if its out of your control.  I don't ship out of the country for the simple reason of more fees higher prices and to eliminate the problems you seem to have. Your rating will not go down if you are doing the right thing with Ebay Envelope.

Pretty sure someone else will come along and contest my statement here; however, most of the issues here are due to both sellers and buyers who jump into eBay after reading nothing about how it works. Let's see, we have the buyer who made his purchase last March and just now is starting to wonder where it is.  We also have the seller who believes his "no returns" stance means he can list absolutely any kind of trash, expect the buyer to pay and not have to refund when the buyer opens an NAD case.  Then there are people in both groups for whom the FVF comes as a surprise like "it has to be illegal for eBay to calculate the FVF on the total sale" .   I won't go on and on.  You get my drift.

I get about 15-18 returns a year but I dont view them as a problem

i know exactly how the MBG works and I am OK with some amount of return abuse

I have 30 days free returns and it cuts out a lot of drama for me

I think some sellers just want to go against the grain rather than going with  the flow of how ebay expects things to be handled.

I never use promoted listings and am happy with my views since I have very regular sales

My only issue is the Fraud. 

Buyers do lie, file bogus returns/bogus chargebacks.  It can be overwhelming.

Yes, there are also carpy Sellers - but Fraud on this site and others is *real*.  My bank account from 2021 certainly made that clear.

And all but 1 chargeback was tied to high-value Legos. 

Just claim SNAD and return a rock.  Or file a chargeback and bypass the SNAD all together.

Yes, many posts are users who create their own issues - but the Fraud on this site (and others) is very real and a drain to your bottom line. 

(Site issues are also an on-going mess.)
