......reluctantly changing over to MP and actually finding it okay to deal with.
Then the next IS debacle hits and it's the straw that broke the camel's back.
It has just become too much work and time to list anything here. It just shouldn't be so difficult, right ?
All the while with eBay slinging handfulls of carp at you as you try to get it done. It just doesn't make sense.
Always the setback here with the glitches, the pro buyer/con seller attitude, no assistance when needed, frivolous fees ($20 dispute fees ?!), no patrolling for scammers who are allowed to work this sight and us, etc.,etc., etc.
So eBay wants to make things difficult and time consuming for sellers, simple and quick for buyers ?
Okay, I've taken the hint and now am just a buyer here, no longer selling. That's not to say I am no longer selling, I've found a much greener pasture.
Not closing my account, I will keep it to buy here and be one of the best buyers you've ever dealt with because I know what the sellers are going through here.
I was a small seller here, so it was the blanking out of 15 listings that was the final straw for me.
Those of you who are spending hours and days repairing thousands of listings have all of my respect, you guys and gals have the patience of freaking saints. You are willing.....I'm just not anymore.
After much research, study, reading, and a little math, I landed at "M". I can be found there under the same ID name.
This is not a parting rant, it's just see you around in another capacity. I'll still be on the boards, just with seller knowledge and not as a seller.
Who knows, if this platform fires up the bilge pumps and keeps from sinking, I may sell here again.....but it would have to be a MUCH better atmosphere and experience.

Nice. Glad you found a new venue and wish you the very best over there. I have now spent another day in denial. Only got 11 listings done today between work and shipping orders and the lure of the sunshine this afternoon. Just a beast to think about. Actually had 11 sales today. No idea how that could happen. 2 in the desecrated categories. Go figure. All I can think is someone had it bookmarked and came back. A lighthouse beacon could not likely find my stuff right now.
Your post really resonates. Just not able/willing to climb another e-bay mountain. Sent 4 more boxes to FBA. Better than giving it away on here.
Good luck to you. Certain you'll be on the boards to wave to us and tell us how faboo it is over on M. Hope it is like a rocket ship for you there!

The place that shares a name with that classic western TV about the Cartwright's has an amazing listing system. Pretty bad when they can get it right and eBay can't. Transferred my stuff over there, even though I heard it's slow there, but a majority of my sales come from my website and the big "A" river, eBay was never a big platform for me anyway, so no big deal either way.
I had till May 28th, but kept reading people having their money held hostage and forced to give over bank info early just to get their money, so I closed all my listings today. That's the last straw for me, if eBay can't even stick to the deadline they set for you why should I trust them with my personal info? This is not a company I want to do business with any longer.

The platform I went to is very simple to list on.
8 pics max.
40 character title.
Very brief description.
Item condition new/used.
4 item specifics.
Shipping free/buyer.
Shipping label from platform/seller's own.
Done.
Make a listing in @ 20-30 seconds after taking photos.

That is the river, except no taking pix. Enter the UPC, denote new, rocket to the next.
I am slogging thru trying to get 5 new listings up tonight and you just did 40.

I do listings on my website first. Then whatever I want to sell on other platforms I basically copy and paste. So on "A" river it is quick and I upload the same photos I use on my site. Here it started to take almost as long as doing a complete SEO listing from scratch on my website, just to copy stuff over and click all the stupid boxes. That's why I never could list much on here it wasn't worth my time. Everything they've done in the last year basically makes me glad I didn't waste a lot of time putting things here.
I have a lot of gripes about "A" river, but lately eBay is taking the cake on major dumb decisions.

We have been on river since '06. Started FBA in 2011. I have been sending quite a bit lately to FBA. My listings are a mess. We were too dumb to understand this category debacle was headed for us like a hurricane. Clearly, some knew this was happening. With all the drivel on this board, you would think some might have shared what they knew. That would be asking a lot, wouldn't it? (Take a look around - many posters mighty upset about the categories....oddly many regulars, not a peep)
We tried a website about 10 years ago. It was so much work trying to drive traffic to it that we gave it up. Almost a FT job in itself.
And yes, right now, while the river is hardly utopian....they look like geniuses right now.

A and The River = Amazon
"M" presumably means Mercari
The Cartwrights sound like Bonanza
"Betsy" is Etsy.
You can say it here.

Not sure if you were around October 2019 where this SAME thing happened BUT back then, if you didn't make the October changes, they wouldn't let your listing or revisions go through. Sellers screamed loud enough (Holidays were coming) that within one day they rolled back what they damaged and allowed you to continue listing/revising. At least with this current, same mess, you can continue to list. What they have done now also needs to be rolled back. My 3rd party program that worked flawlessly since 2000 still has not recovered from the 10/2019 debacle. Some sellers also lost pictures.

Thanks eBay for not deleting this post, just suddenly burying it 5 pages back.
This is what you're working with, folks.
