Items were relisted without notice

Not sure how to disable this option... or "feature"

I had listings ending yesterday but I noticed right after that they were all relisted and I wasn't even notified. No, there's nothing that I could check/uncheck about "relisting free up to X times". However, under the "Pricing" of the item, there is a drop down with the option "Until Sold or Canceled" by default and I can't change it at all.

Not looking to get hidden listing fees and charges from eBay. I rather do everythign manually. Is there a way to remove this (other than the obvious of ending listings)?

Nevermind, I'm not going to continue to fret about it. The items that were relisted were always "30 days", and I know because I relisted the same items more than once every month prior. Somewhere along the line, eBay switched it to GTC to default and I can't change it. I'll cancel all the listings before ending date and make brand new versions with 30 days.

I highly suggest everyone to review their settings before posting an item, as I notice now, the default duration is GTC also, and you only see it if you click "More Options".

You don't need to do that. After you end them, Select the ones you want to relist. Select sell similar, and then select all the listings on the listing spread sheet, and then open the edit listing menu, and select duration. Change the duration to 30 days. and save, then submit the listings.

GTC can only be undone through canceling your listings. Just wait until they're ready to reach their 30 day period and end them, to avoid the automatic relist, and getting hit with new fees on items not covered by your allotment.

Re: Items were relisted without notice

My confusion is why are they considered GTC to begin with? They were always 30 days and then ends. I relisted the items 1-2 times before manually when they ended (which was always 30 day duration), but they're suddenly GTC? Not sure why that is?

Re: Items were relisted without notice

Often - even when doing listings manually - the default is Good till Cancelled and if you don't watch it and click apporpriately and then allow the timer  to time out with the change - that listing will still have the GTC time frame on it. I have 7 listings now that are good till cancel - I never use GTC - but I didn't wait and double check before submitting that listing!

Thanks! I'll keep this information for the future.

Re: Items were relisted without notice

Ebay made a change last year that said that some listings would be converted to GTC.

I believe you for sure, because that's what happened with the "Allow offers" option. I've taken precautions since then by actually giving it a timeframe!

Re: Items were relisted without notice

Yes, That same thing happened to mine. I was trying to be watchful because of the update Good til canceled feature (that clearly was done to generate fees for ebay- not to "help" sellers..) But they upped their sneaky tactics and relisted my items, WITH GTC already in. I was planning to only relist items i thought were better sellers and hold off some others...
So now I had to cancel a bunch, and list as auctions others.
So completely unscrupulous ebay!!

@funfashion2005

Fixed Price only has a GTC time frame as of 3-18-2019 I think-whenever the latest seller update went into affect.

Re: Items were relisted without notice

yes. I waited for the older listings from February to end in March (they still had 30 days on them). But ebay used THOSE listings, re-listed them 'for me', AND changed to GTC, all without notifying me!! I had taken the time to check since i knew I didn't relist them, and was surprised they were up again... But i'm sure many sellers haven't even realized that it was happening! ebay no doubt is counting on those thousands of sellers overlook, to generate big $$$ for themselves! I myself was charged for a few listings when ebay changed to GTC on the app (again- without notice!) I had no idea I was billed, and I paid the charges thinking it was a fluke. But now i realize it was all part of the bigger change, and I can see how ebay is making lots of money in a very fishy way. Think abut it: if only 1 million users get overcharged for ONE extra listing $0.35 each, ebay made $350,000 right there! I'm sure there is much more, since I was charged for 3 "only", and didn't dispute (no worth the time- i thought..)

Re: Items were relisted without notice

Yes-it happened to me as well! Many commenters here don't even realize the point you're making. Ebay has relisted on their own my 30 days listings that were supposed to end, changed to GTC without letting me know. They use deplorable tactics to generate money!
