Item specific glitch is NOT resolved

I tried bulk relisting this morning and the item specific error did not pop up, however when I click on a listing the size specific is NOT filled in unless I manually add it to each individual listing (as well as other important ones but I am so overwhelmed with this I can only focus on one at a time)

I got through half of them before I just got frustrated and relisted all of them ....so the ones I did NOT edit were allowed to be relisted but they do not have the size so who knows if they will even be able to be seen in narrowed searches

So my jeans alone are going to be missing size and style and all the IMPORTANT specifics that WERE ALREADY IN THERE unless I still go and manually change them in all of my 3000 listings

And the new ones added don’t make any sense

Why do I have to specify that they are JEANS and again specify that they are for WOMEN when they are listed in the WOMENS JEANS category????

This is NOT resolved until my important specifics are RE-ADDED and I should not have to manually do it myself this is absolutely ridiculous!!

Sorry, didn't read the rest of your reply...my problem is if they do some kind of "roll back" my 3rd party listing program will really be screwed up. I had already downloaded these not functioning changes on the 15th.

Yeah my sales were going up, buyers were starting to buy sweaters/jackets....then the 15th happened.  The only items of value I sold since then were from offers to watchers I had sent out before.

I agree....whoever decided to create these sizes has never A) had to list a piece of clothing and B) never actually shopped online for a piece of clothing

As a seller it is more work to try navigate through all the new sizes (some that do not even pertain to the particular piece of clothing ), also there are several different size categories that mean basically the same thing so if a buyer is looking for a particular size they may not see everything available in that size because they are all split up now

As a buyer it is overwhelming and confusing to try to navigate all the sizes

I tried to search for size for women’s jeans today just for the hell

of it and had to scroll through a zillion just to find what I was looking for

And the sizes are not even in any particular order it seems so you literally have to scroll through a mile long list just to find one particular size

I think I read that eBay has implemented this because they had from feedback from sellers that this would be better 

I call complete **bleep** on that statement 

I can’t imagine a seller (or a buyer)  that would have suggested these nonsensical and redundant and confusing specifics would make shopping or selling easier

I didn't get a Revised Announcement notice and I am signed up to get them...it may also help with new threads being created as we speak...Again, thanks for your help with this...and just noticed...I sure hope this announcement was not just made in the Seller Hub board where I never go.

I get that they're trying to make a searchable catalog based on IS's since the original catalog idea failed, but it doesn't work that way with items like clothing, accessories or, really, most other items.  They need to just use the simple, generally industry standard method of Brand, Size, Colour and then as optional IS's the fabric type, etc., which they had before, and let the buyer do the rest of the search - being able to drill down on those simple specifics will already provide the shopper with enough options to get where they're going.  It doesn't need to be spoon-fed in a complicated maze of item specifics that will confuse the buyer as much as the seller.  "Theme", etc., just isn't necessary - any themes can, and should be, noted in the title - themes are way too vague, anyway.  An item of clothing, home dec, etc.,  isn't like buying a screw driver or a pile of toilet paper - there's a lot of subjectivity to it and there's no cataloging subjective style.

I'm not sure there's going to be any way to fix this that's not going to be a pain in the dupa one way or another - I've already done 50 listings just manually and may end up re-doing them - that's actually not a big deal, I'm thinking that for big sellers, people with 3rd party, etc., it's a lot worse.  I'm just hoping it's fixed quickly and I'll just clean up the mess then - it just needs to be fixed. 

 

Looks like there's the announcement pinned to the top of the board, so our guys took your suggestion - that was a good idea - everybody gets the news that way!

This is so sad... We just sold our stock a week ago thank goodness... because they are dropping...


I watched that video, they gave a very realistic sellers perspective as to how this is causing big problems for some sellers as well as being a critical review of ebay "glitches" and the typical ebay responses of "we're working on it" while discouraging workarounds that actually work.

Contact customer service directly? Jesus! I have several times and the CS reps are clueless. It's not their fault. Higher ups are not equipping them with the info they need to do their jobs effectively.

ATTN EBAY...  IF IT IS NOT BROKEN DO NOT FIX IT!.    EBAY HAS CREATED A MESS. 

THEY NEED TO QUICKLY FIX THIS.  IT IS COSTING EVERYONE MONEY.

 

I CANNOT BELIEVE YOU DID NOT SAVE THE OLD SYSTEM.  OR TRY A NEW SYSTEM BEFORE LAUNCH.

 

THEY NEED TO REVERT TO THE OLD WAY BECAUSE IT WORKED JUST FINE. 

 

EBAY IS NOT GOING TO BE AMAZON.  THEY NEED TO RECOGNIZE THEIR NICHE AND STAY THERE.

I have tried to edit, relist, fix with added information, which was already there but they keep telling me it needs more,
go over and over my listing reentering item specifics, still get the same message "Recommended Detail Mising!" But is isn't !..... because I have put it all in over and over! How hard can this be... ???? Think I will go to a movie today, can't take another day of this : (
