Hi, I sold a phone to someone in Peru over a month ago. I only offer international shipping through ebays international shipping program but he bought it and shipped to his own third party reshipper. I had no idea it was a reshipper when sending it out. The item went to out for delivery on Nov 30th and now says awaiting delivery. I tried opening a usps lost package claim but they wont let me stating it was shipped to a third party reshipper so I cant open a claim. I assume I will be out the $300 and usps will do nothing about it as the buyer opened a claim with ebay, do I have any options? This seller has left feedback on other accounts stating stuff such as "he refunded". This buyer has bought a good chunk of phones in the past few months based off feedback so I assume he does this a lot.

EBAY only holds you responsible for shipping it to USA reshipping location. If customer files "did not receive item" case (you only need to provide EBAY with tracking# proving it was delivered to USA location).
You are NOT responsible that reshipper has delayed delivery.

Been seeing of few of these post.
For some reason, USPS is not scanning packages for some freight forwarders.
I don't know why the address makes a difference, you're paying them to deliver to that address and they should do their jobs and scan the packages as delivered.
If they filed an INR, not much you can do but refund since tracking doesn't show as delivered.

The problem is that @yousayahhyes 's package doesn't show as "delivered" to the FF's location. So in this case, the seller/OP is responsible.
IMO, ebay needs to straighten it out with USPS that ALL packages with tracking MUST be scanned on delivery.

This is a known issue with the Miami / Doral area @yousayahhyes . I suggest reading the below linked discussion for advice on how to handle the situation.

@albertabrightalberta that is already a requirement by the Postal Service to their Employees but they are still human's doing the job, and sometimes just forget, miss-scan etc; so ebay 'requiring USPS to do anything would be nothing but the same thing.

Are you positive it was shipped via EIS?

OP said it was not eIS. It was domestic because the buyer used a freight forwarder in the US instead of having shipped to their country through eIS.
The problem is systemic to certain forwarders in Miami / Doral and USPS needs to get their act together and fix it. It's been nearly a year of this nonsense from that region.

Yea it was not EIS the item was shipped usps to a place in Miami.

Yelp. Ebay decided to side with the buyer. Now im out $300 and have nothing to show for it. Crazy ebay allows such buyers on the platform as they can clearly tell by there buying history they do it to lots of people.

Yea nothing I could do. They sided with the buyer and im out $300.

The problem is usps never scanned it delivered. It just went from out for delivery to awaiting delivery.

USPS now uses GPS geo-delivery for all tracked packages, regardless of their final destination.
Go to your local post office with your tracking number, request a GPS location scan with online tracking update, or at least a GPS location scan, and they'll tell you where your package was delivered, to within 3 ft.
Also, complete an online, "locate lost package" ticket.

If your package was never delivered and lost, file a claim with USPS to receive your money. Also, if never delivered because of loss, then of course the buyer should be refunded.
Those FF warehouses have been issues for years, and not just with ebay. Florida law places the jurisdiction on the state/local the item was shipped from. Florida takes no responsibility, and these warehouses are loaded with unpaid goods. Personally, if we could the option to block Florida, I would block

I had a similar scenario happen a month ago and yeah ebay just gives them your money and the item which everyone knows they received. USPS is going to give you the run around about tracking. it's about the only thing on ebay that sucks imo. If I knew how to block any foreigners that don't go through eis I would. How would someone in peru know if the item was or wasn't actually delivered and why would you just side with them when they are thousands of miles from the delivery spot? sorry this happened to you.
