Item descriptions showing up incorrect on smartphone???

Hi, I was advised by a customer that ALL of my item descriptions, when viewed only on a smartphone device, are all screwed up and do not match the actual description unless you click "read more" and then you can see the full description. I have listing for OTHER ITEMS that are showing up as the description for a different item. Absolutely horrible and has ruined alot of my store currently! Any help with this?

Re: Item descriptions showing up incorrect on smartphone???

It looks like it is pulling the last few sentences of your description for the "description preview", which in your case is the feedback comments you've added at the bottom of your description page.

It is doing that for everyone's listings.

Use this tool to see what summary description eBay is using for phones and shopping venues.

http://www.isdntek.com/ebaytools/MobileSummaryReader.htm

This item has feedback embedded in the description, and I notice that the feedback is what was copied into the summary.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/173451330801

Several others that I examined were also displaying the embedded feedback instead of displaying what you might have intended.

At the very bottom of the above tool page is a copy of eBay's mobile summary tags and a link to eBay's page that explains how to use the code. eBay provides the tags so that sellers like you who place extraneous content in the description can mark off the text that eBay should use. Otherwise, if you don't wish to mark off the text, it is best to avoid adding extraneous text to the listing.

When you repair each of your listings (to either remove the feedback code or to add eBay's summary tags to mark off the correct description), eBay will update the summary text a few minutes after you save your changes.
