Item being returned by USPS, reason unknown

Item was shipped on 11/5 from a local post office in Albany, NY. Buyer is located in Atlanta, GA. Tracking shows that it made it to Atlanta on 11/7. The tracking did not update for 5 days, and as of 3 days ago it shows the package is back in Albany.

I called USPS and was told that it was being returned and that there was an issue with the label. They could not tell me specifically what the issue was, but that it made it the the sorting facility in Atlanta and never to the buyer's local post office. I asked the buyer to verify their mailing address and it matches what they gave me for the label.

Does anyone know what the potential issues could be with the label outside of it having an undeliverable address?

The package still shows "in-transit" and I haven't gotten it back yet. The buyer wants me to send them another which I'm okay with. Is this a good idea? I'm thinking of sending it priority.

Label could have been torn/smudged.....or, despite the buyer's assurance, there could be something wrong with the address.

I, too, would wait until it's returned to be sure there isn't something wrong with the address...

Wait to receive the return before doing anything.

Count your blessings.

I shipped an item to an address here in San Jose. I then didn't have the feature of buyers being able to pick them up, which I would deliver of course if that saved me $.

Well, the package went from San Jose to Sacramento, to Orange county, to San Francisco, then to Orange county, then to SF, then to San Jose in 13 days. I think, can't remember, but I think I used Media. It could have been delivered in 5 days the most being local.

So, wait for the package, call Ebay and find out what positive arbitrage can bring to you.
