Hello, when I type my text into the Item Description is looks perfect but when I Preview the listing, all of the formatting is gone and everything is scrunched together. I've tried entering it as Standard and HTML. I'm using Chrome. Any ideas?

I'm using Firefox on a Mac laptop, and I saw scrunched together text in Preview last night.

I went ahead and listed and the listing looked fine.

Just eBay "improving" things again...

I'm sure it will be back to normal eventually.

Is it a listing that has been around for a while and relisted and revised many, many times, or a sell similar created from such an old listing?

It's a brand new listing. I've also tried using a template since I have about 90 similar items to sell (books).

I reported this directly to eBay earlier today. Luckily, it showed on their end as **bleep**, too. BUT the listings upload just fine, no worries.

Thanks, I'm currently writing up all of the item descriptions and I was concerned about having to rewrite/reformat them if I'm doing something wrong.

I asked about listing age because I thought it might be a manifestation of the "font tag nesting" problem, but you say it's new, and I ran into the same thing this you reported this morning.

Description fine in listing editor HTML tab, ok in actual listing when the revisions were saved, ok in the actual raw HTML of the preview window, but mangled in the preview - looked like FONT, BR, and TABLE tags were ignored by the preview.

Not fatal (preview quits working at all in my browser lately after a few uses so have gotten used to doing without), and the listing end up ok, but hopefully it will get fixed.

I've been fighting this all day along and it's not like I'm a newbie, I've been filling out eBay shipping and description forms for years. Now with this new format, they change stuff behind my back, best offer, no free ship, that kind of stuff. Then in, in the "item description" (I'm doing women's costume jewelry watches which is a tough sell anyhow and they make it worse when the listing blows up, nothing got changed and you revise and revise, finally it comes out right - forget putting in the country of manufacture, they'll have to assume Chinese -the ad blows up every time. All day on not quite 10 listings and I'm on my Windows 7 desktop .

The hard part used to be taking clear pictures. Now it's filling out the forms.
This sux, it all used to be really easy.

I've had the problem for about the last month, worked fine before. I am using the single list item process brought up by the sell button on new listings or when revising existing listings. I am using Chrome and Windows 8.1. I do not use templates, but I do format my description with a few font attributes (font type, size, bold, italics) and centering. When I use Preview Listing feature, everything is scrunched together and text lines overlap.

Preview Listing used to be a helpful feature, because sometimes the description would display live with scrunched lines. That hasn't happened in a long time. My work around for the Preview Listing glitch is to list the item, then check it. Kind of defeats the purpose of Preview Listing, and I wish eBay would fix it.

I can confirm what others have said...when the item is actually listed, the format issue is resolved. However, this defeats the purpose of the Preview.

I've found Firefox on Mac OS to now not save it in live listings as well, not just previews....really poor, thanks Ebay for improving by making listings worse and still taking the same commission.
