I'm trying to list something on eBay. I haven't used it for a few months. When trying to submit the listing after preview, I get this message at the top and it won't proceed. There is no link in the message, and the error message is badly formed. It actually shows:

I wondered if it was a scam.

I have looked through my email messages, and my stored messages in the account. In the stored messages there is a message from 4 Dec (2 months ago) with a similar content, referring back to a previous email which I can't find. The 4 Dec message contains a clickable link, but that only takes me to the Activity page in my account.

I have looked through all my account settings and can see no problems, so I cannot find what information is required to resolve this.

Did you sign up for managed payments? That may have created the issue. If you have, you should contact ebay cs:

Pretty sure in the UK you have to sign up with Managed payments using a bank account, but no dea if it has to be a check account.

You need to get advice on your home platform for this

Yes, managed payments was the problem. I went in to my account and looked under payments. There was no indication (eg red label) that there was anything amiss until I opened that page.

Please review the below link carefully. It contains very important information as to how Ebay needs to see the information you provide them on your account. It is likely easier to change your Ebay account to match your bank account if you find there to be a difference.

Hello, I’m having the same problems if there’s anyway that you could help me eBay saying that I need to put personal information and whenever I try to put up a listing, they asked me for that

This is an old thread from 2022.  OP doesn't appear to be selling anymore, so I doubt they'll reply.
