Is this from bots? View count through the roof on an item in a single day

Really odd. In a single day one of my items had a HUGE view count increase and tons of watchers. Is this from bots?

You had a viral moment.

But since no one actually bought (or did they?) it just shows Views are less important that some sellers fret about.

No one bought. The watchers went up to 18 from 2 though.

I agree with @reallynicestamps , that is likely the answer.  I personally don't get depend on what Ebay tells me my number of views or watchers.  I can't tell you how many times I've sold something over the years that have had no views per Ebay and no watchers.

One other thing to possibly consider, very little of what now happens on eBay in real time. From creating a listing, to getting paid, to views and watchers. I would just chalk it up to that and move on to the next ebay glitch around the corner which do happen in real time. Not soooo much for fixing them!!

Ebay is too big with too many listings to be real time on everything.

Possibly, it seems to be getting even more now. 

does the ebay algo work like social media? Where if something gets more clicks its spread to more people ?

Quite possibly. EBay are cagey about all but the most obvious bits of the algorithm.

But again, it could also have been posted to someone's FaceBook page for his buddies to see. Purely manual. Or Reddit or 4chan.

I agree about views.  I removed views from my columns and have watches.
