Hi there, , I sold a set of full-size sheets and the buyer is claiming they are queen-size. Here is the message she sent me “ Hello. I washed the sheets and started to put them on. Your listing said FULL, but the sheets are queen. Can you refund some of the purchase price please before I leave feedback. Be fair.“ I responded please return for full refund and she became hostile, then left negative feedback, angry because I didn’t offer her a partial refund. Would that be feedback extortion?

I have those same sheets for my antique spare bed! They are full sheets and generously sized.
I read her feedback ( just loving that 500 characters?) and my thoughts that her message to you is more on the line of FB extortion, the neg is borderline, but respond to her neg FB very professional and make her look bad!
It might be worth $10 bucks just to get rid of her.

It reads like a SNAD. These were EUC sheets - any way she could be right and they are Queen and not full? or maybe factory 2nds and the sizing is off?
What does her FB for others show? Any history of this for other Sellers?

I'd certainly reach out to eBay to have it removed. I do think the message is a bit 'extortion-y', but the feedback is also lies. The buyer speaks of a $10 refund and a return on their dime, when you offered them a better deal. Go get 'em.

Try calling eBay?

It appears so. It said they were EUC (so maybe unused but out of the package?)

Unless ebay CS has been way more generous with what they consider feedback extortion... to my understanding that message should not qualify as extortion under ebay policy (despite it TOTALLY being extortion). Ebay used to go by the book and say if the message literally doesn’t say “or I will leave you negative/bad feedback” then it isn’t extortion. I’ve complained to agents before and many of them say “before I leave feedback” can mean that they will give you good feedback. Which is a dumb argument.
Thats not to say you can’t get that negative removed. Call ebay and tell them the buyer is upset because you didn’t agree to a partial refund. They might be able to help... if not try again. I think your chances are good that you will eventually find someone who will help you.

I responded please return for full refund
@maryelonglegs
I would have done the same. A partial refund will NOT make the sheets a different size.

She's scamming you. She has no use for a set of sheets that are the wrong size, and getting a partial refund isn't going to make the sheets fit on the bed.
My understanding is when a buyer mentions feedback, the feedback they leave is removable. But your mileage may vary and it depends on the agent reviewing the request for removal.

I would have done what @monster-deals said in my recent post https://community.ebay.com/t5/Selling/quot-I-await-your-reply-before-I-leave-you-feedback-quot/m-p/3...
“That's why I always ask.
"I don't think I understand, can you clarify what you mean?"
More than half the time they hang themselves.”

I vote aye!
Sounds like it to me.

It's FB extortion to anybody reading it except eBay. You have a stronger argument with the buyer demanding something not included in the listing.
First step: Go to the transaction and select Report Buyer. Then follow these prompts on the report screen:
After the buyer has been reported go here: https://www.ebay.com/sellerhelp/feedback
Fill out the request to remove feedback based on the report you filed and add comments, "The buyer demanded a partial refund and participated in feedback extortion which can be read in eBay messages. I submitted a report for their policy violation. When I told the buyer they could return the item for a refund instead of caving in to their demand for a partial refund, the buyer left negative feedback."
Yes, mention FB extortion regardless.

Personally I would call and talk with ebay. My track record of using that automated feedback removal system is super low... and out of those pretty much all of them ended up removed when I talked with ebay after already being denied by the automated system.

Good sheets can be very expensive. A set of lightly used and freshly cleaned sheets are a real bargain.
