I purchased an item from a seller who indicated would ship next business day expedite shipping. I read the reviews at that time there was 1 negative saying it took the seller a whole week to ship and still waiting. Because it was free shipping I didn't concern too much. On the 3rd day after my purchase, shipping label was printed. I should have received it yesterday but, USPS tracking saying only label was printed still waiting for item from shipper.
Then I noticed there are 2 more negative reviews just showed up, one said seller wouldn't respond. So I opened a request that I didn't receive the item. At the end of the request process eBay said seller has by 9/7/2017 to respond, and buyer could ask eBay to step in on 9/8. eBay also sent me an email on the details on this request.
Today no response from Seller. One thing: I noticed my open request on eBay, the date for seller to response has changed from 9/7 to 9/11, and eBay could step in on 9/12. I was sure it was 9/7, so I went back to the email eBay sent to me, it sure was 9/7. So why is eBay doing this??
Also, it now appears that the seller printed the shipping label to make it looked like the item was shipped to trick eBay's system. I sell on eBay too, I remember eBay requires seller to ship out within 3 business days or the seller has to request extention on shipping.

You remember incorrectly.
The seller can set whatever handling time he wants on a listing; there is no need to "request an extension" on shipping.

who indicated would ship next business day expedite shipping
was that in the description or did the shipping actually SAY priority shipping?
I should have received it yesterday
based on what? Did ebay give you that date? Did you extrapolate that from the date of the label printing?
You're just going to have to await the dates Ebay gives..... If the seller was in Texas or LA, they may have extended the dates for disaster reasons.. and disasters can happen to each of us individually also. If it doesn't get there.......you will be refunded.....

I purchased in August, the one review I saw saying took a whole week for seller to ship and still waiting was during past month. Even if they are located in TX or LA, that shouldn't apply back then.
Yes, eBay indicated me the date that I should have received it because the seller had indicated they ship next business day. That's why I can open a request. If it hasn't reached that date, eBay doesn't allow the buyer to start the request process, it would tell you to wait until the expected arrival date.
I now see 1 more new negative review saying item doesn't work and no response from seller (a total of 3 showed up this week) on this seller. The seller didn't respond at all. What I see is, the item I bought was sold out, yet the seller just did a new list, not relist. So the seller had access to Internet to print the shipping label 3 days ago, and also today had access to Internet to list a item, but didn't even bother to answer any questions from buyers to help resolve any issue?? I just check the seller's item location to see if there's power outage, no. If USPS has closed its local office due to disasters or anything, no.
I wish those negative reviews had shown up when I was going to buy the item then I wouldn't buy.

I remember incorrectly? See the attached articles I just found on Internet. Now eBay does lets seller to select up to 30 days, but it used to be if more than 3 days, seller has to select request extended time. When I was listing an item, I wanted to have more than 3 days because at that time I could ship only Sat, but eBay didn't have the 30 days selection, and if more than 3 days, has to select extended time.

eBay has always suggested three days, but they didn't require it.

The seller made a response to my request today by providing the tracking number and nothing else. My question in my request was that the tracking info showed shipping label was printed but USPS was waiting for the item, so when will this item be shipped?
Come on, eBay. You got all these top programmers, you can program better! The seller needs to response so by typing anything the seller is considered to have responded. This just beats your system easily. Your programming needs to require the seller to select a date!

That would be why the date for you to ask eBay to step in has now been pushed back several days, since the seller has responded with a tracking number.

When the post office opens tomorrow, presumably. Today is a holiday after a weekend, so you're not going to see an Acceptance scan before Tuesday at the earliest. Always check your tracking numbers on usps.com, not just eBay.

Thank you. Just a note, the reason I was able to make a "I haven't received my item" request on eBay is that according to eBay I should have received my item on 9/1. I always check on USPS before I ask shipping questions.

Sorry but sellers do not have to ship out in three business, nor do they need to request an extension of that.
Sellers can choose their processing time, 1 day -30 days. It is their individual choice.
Ebay has removed the seller's processing time from listings; now there is only the estimated delivery timeframe.

Many areas of the country are currently in emergency crisis situations.
This can impact shipping.
Ebay posted an announcement stating to there may be shipping delays.
