That is a scam….
Scammers look for new sellers selling expensive tech.
If you had an actual sale it would be in your eBay seller account under awaiting shipping.
eBay payments don’t go to a Gmail account.

In that case, stop, until you understand what you're doing. Selling a $900 laptop when you have no selling experience is a recipe for disaster. Scammers will be smelling blood in the water, and you are hearing from one already.
That email you received is complete fiction and the Gmail address is not that of eBay; that scammer is hoping that you will ship the item before you discover that you have not actually been paid. (How the scammer got your email address is unclear, unless perhaps you texted him or emailed photos to him. )
When starting to sell on eBay, list only those items that you can afford to lose completely if things go sideways. Don't start by listing highly-scammed items such as smartphones and laptops. You're better off selling a laptop locally for cash; no one halfway across the country (or halfway across the world) has a pressing need for your particular item.

Scammers target new sellers or anyone selling "high value" items especially (computers, cellphones). There are many different types of scams going around on EBAY (scammers figured out how to get items "for free"). EBAY will NOT protect if you get scammed.

You should be doing a pick-up only on this item. Buyers pays then with cash. Meet at your local police station. Most stations offer this type of service.

Your "don't understand anything" is frightening. You need to read ALL the information you can find about selling on eBay.
For instance, have you read the Money Back Guarantee, the terms of which can impact you as a seller greatly?

That is the first danger sign when the buyer attempts to complete the sale through email. I typically reply for the buyer to purchase through the EBAY process and then the item will be shipped. Let him know you will no longer respond to email offers.

Agreed with everyone else. You have a "Target On Your Back!" Please educate yourself until you "Understand Everything." Starting out selling lower priced items until you get the hang of it may be the a good idea. No more chit-chat with this scammer or others - they will pick-u-clean. Good Luck!!
