I need to contact a buyer because I am unsure the buyer understands what he/she is buying. I sold laster week a used CDMA mobile cell phone in a good condition. The item in the listing is accurately described, the MODEL number of the phone and the information it's a Bell locked phone. The phone otherwise working condition. After the phone was sold, I found out, Bell has shut the CDMA network in Canada in 2019. So while the phone may still work on other CDMA networks in USA, China and elsewhere, it wouldn't work on Bell network anymore.

So now I am unable to find the phone number. I was going to try to send text message to the buyer or maybe try to call.
In the past this was a great last resort to reach a buyer if something was going wrong. I understand this is for security and privacy reasons, but is there a solution?
Is there any other way to get the phone number? Or will ebay contact the buyer by calling or sending message on the number the buyer registered.

If you click on order details in sellers hub the buyers phone number should be listed. I believe they delete it but I usually see it there for at least a couple of weeks.

The proper way to contact a buyer is through ebay messaging. You can find the contact buyer link in your items sold section.

Nothing here cannot be conveyed to the buyer via messaging. Also, if what you are saying is true and the buyer didn't sort it out, chances are you wouldn't be able to reach the buyer by phone 😂

I can't help with your present problem, but for the future go here,
at the bottom of the page you will see a selection labeled "Always ask buyers for phone number". Click on the drop-down and select "Yes".
Now when an item sells the order page will show the buyers' phone number just below his address. HTH.

@bimm_corp That's a great tip. Where can I download the EBay Tips and Tricks manual 😉
But at least eBay is cleaning up those Settings pages. It looks way better. It's about the time.

Just to clarify.. the mobile app doesn't have the phone number there, so it would he helpful if EBay included the phone number also in the Order details there.

It also makes things harder to find. I would not have thought to look for that switch in shipping preferences. I would look first in communications preferences, as I think most people would. eBay is always trying to hide the important stuff.
