Is there a way to sell to U.S. addresses only (excluding reshippers that ship internationally)?

I want to make it so that items I sell can only be delivered to an address in the U.S. and that's it. Package is received by buyer. Not forwarded, not reshipped, nothing like that. Just plain and simple delivery to a customer. Not sure if that's possible, so I figured I'd ask. Want to avoid scams.

Nope.  Not possible.

Besides, you are less likely to be successfully scammed by a buyer using a reshipper than by a domestic buyer anyway.  Once the item reaches the reshipper and is forwarded on, the buyer loses any protection they had.

If it works, sell it. If it works well, sell it for more. If it doesn't work, quadruple the price and sell it as an antique.

"Once the item reaches the reshipper and is forwarded on, the buyer loses any protection they had."  This is on Ebay.  It would be wise to look into the protections they have if payed via Paypal.  Still open to chargebacks, etc.

Block all countries but US in site preferences and then all non US paypal accounts so foreigners can't pay.

Not necessarily nice but will do what you want

I don't understand how blocking "foreigners" is "not necessarily nice".  Please explain.

This might help some...in Paypal choose these blocks:

Allow payments sent to me in a currency I do not hold:
No, deny the payments (choose this one)

Block payments from users who:
Have non-U.S. PayPal accounts (choose this one)
Block non-U.S. shipping addresses (also choose this one for good measure)

Business isn't nice, unfortunately. I have no time to waste with people who don't actually want to buy and purchase what I'm selling. It may not stop all scams, but if it stops th3 one I'm dealing with now, I'll do what I have to.

Freight forwarding transactions are one of the safest one's on ebay for sellers.

I'm curious to know why you would want to block 3/4 of the world from potential sales and what 'scam's you're trying to avoid?

The OP is a new/occasional seller who should not be shipping internationally in any case.

Nothing to do with scammers, but newbies may as well screw up close to home where language, shipping time and xenophobia don't become involved.

In addition, going by his previous FB (as a Canadian I cannot see his current listings) he is selling to a demographic that runs heavily to scammers- young /male gamers.

When the time comes to expand his market, he would be wise to look into the Global Shipping Program (spit spit spit) for its Seller Protection.

He may also be unaware that PP will put a Hold on his buyer's cleared payments pending his good customer service.

ALL American sellers -- even those who welcome international sales -- need to say "no" to "payments in a currency I do not hold." What this means is very simple -- you accept USD only. By doing so, you do not pay for currency conversion; the buyer does. Of course, if you happen to have a foreign currency bank account -- many companies do -- then you certainly can accept any given currency for deposit to that account.

The other 2 blocks prevent payments from non-U.S. Paypal accounts and prevent bids or buying by people who do not have a U.S. ship-to address.

The only loophole in all this is that SOME "re-shippers" are actually U.S.-based BUYERS -- who offer their services to international customers, especially those in Japan. You can block them by user name but not in general.

I wouldn't do this because I have never had a problem with a international sale  (GSP) or a reshipper

But, if I sold electronics, phones or computers this would be the first thing I would do.

Absolutely.

The seller must consider her customer demographic when deciding what restrictions (if any) she puts on bidders.

Electronics, games and gaming, jewelry, designer purses, dolls (OMG! Dolls!), designer sneakers, sportscards, team jerseys; who will be buying it is, to my mind, more important than where it will be shipped.
