Is there a way to block buyers with no feedback?

I have a recurring problem with people who have 0 feedback (or very little feedback) not paying or otherwise creating needless issues.

Is there any way to set a limit where, if someone has 0 feedback or less than 10 feedback, the seller is blocked from purchasing from me?

No, this is not possible.

In order to fully solve buyers not paying, the solution is to switch to non-auctions and check Immediate Payment Required.

In your site preferences you can block low-feedback members from buying/bidding more than one item in ten days, but you can't block that first purchase/bid.

If you could (but you can't) you would really block buyers with zero or less than 10 feedback?

I'm sure everyone will let you know why that wouldn't be a good idea (even of you could).

They are also going to suggest that you list with fixed price/buy it now/immediate payment required.

Instead of blocking those with 0 feedback, why not list all your items at a fixed buy it now price, with immediate payment required and NO best offers? That way you'll get serious buyers, instead of sport bidders who use Ebay as a playground to annoy hard working sellers.  It's the only way you'll get it to stop.  Consider this option.

Many (if not most) of my sales are via best offer.

Without best offer, my conversion rate suffers, and as I understand it, this consequently hurts my traffic.

You have a store. Have you tried running sales to generate the same conversion as offers, but without the non-payers?

eBay's working on an auto-pay offer feature, but it's been a very slow process. They're still in testing phase and we don't know when it will go site wide.

You want $39.99 or best offer. Why not just list it for $32.00 BIN IPR. Your problems would end.

We all gave you pretty much the same answer.  It's up to you if you want to apply it or not.  Just from reading here on the forum, many still have issues with the best offer feature.   If it works for you, then by all means continue to use it.  However, it's really advisable just to dump the auctions.  Many customers don't like to wait to purchase something they really want.  I know I don't.

As long as you use auctions emphasize offers, instead of fixed price with immediate payment required, offers de-emphasized, you are going to get sports bidders, game-players, people who buy on impulse and then won't (or can't) pay, many time-wasting messages, and so on with the hassles.

If you feel that auctions and offers is what works best for you to sell comic books and action figures and the like, then you have to brace yourself to put up with the nonsense and let it roll off your back.

Not what you want to hear, but it's the reality, most especially in selling to certain demographics.

Oh my gosh I'm so glad I saw your post... I am FED UP with these fake bidders with *zero* feedback bidding up my auction to where other genuine buyers can no longer buy then they skip out on the payment.  It was a large ticket item for free local pick-up, NEVER AGAIN.

i have zero feedback  you see it as a problem

you click on my name adding me to your blocked buyer list

instead i asked another ebayer maybe in the same household who has feedback to

buy the item for me

you can block a name you cannot block an ip address

ebay also allows or allowed not sure if it's still a viable option but you could buy

as a guest & as such you wouldn't have feedback

you're also assuming zero feedback ='s issues & yes it can & it's because ebay now over 25 years later

still enables it they allow buyers to not pay & without penalty

they should hijack the burger king jingle & rework it... "at ebay have it your way, DON'T PAY!"

My worst buyers so far have been people with a lot of feedback. 0 feedback buyers are mostly good buyers. 1 out of 20 do not pay. That is not a big deal for me.

You can use Fixed Price and Immediate Payment Required.

But Best Offer is popular, and unfortunately, IPR cannot be used with BO, since the two parties are unlikely to be available at the same time.

While normally you could set acceptable/not acceptable parameters on your BOs which will automatically accept any acceptable offer (there must be a better way to say that), and while most customers faced with and immediate acceptance will immediately pay,  it is still possible that the customer might wait.

So if you set a BO with an immediate refusal for offers that are too low, you can then see any potentially acceptable offers and refuse (or ignore) 0FB customers.

So.

You want $100 for your item but would accept $95 but not $90.

If I am willing to pay $100, Immediate Payment is triggered. No problem.

If I offer $85, I get an automatic refusal. You do not see my offer.

If I offer $91, you see my offer and can accept or reject. IPR is not available.

If I offer $95, my offer is automatically accepted  but IPR is not available, and while I probably will pay, I might take my time.

Auction format + local pickup = do not mix

List that lawn mower as a fixed price listing and consider changing "Free Local Pick Up" from the title to straight up "Local Pickup ONLY" or "LOCAL PICKUP" in all caps
