I seem to recall something about not being able to leave negative feedback for a TRS+ member until after some number of days have passed. (I thought it was 7 days?) Any info on that?
Specifically, I mailed an item that was deliver Aug 1. Today Aug 6 the buyer leaves a NEG that simply says "thanks". Being curious I went to their feedback page and I find that the last 3 feedbacks they left either said "thanks" or "wow thanks" AND WERE ALL NEGATIVE. But "thanks" doesn't sound negative.
I am guessing (hoping?) it is just an "autocopy" and I plan to appeal. But the number of days is also an issue. If it is 7 days then how could they leave it after 5?
I sent a note to the buyer asking if there was a problem. Waiting for an answer on that.

If you do decide you want to try and get your buyer to revise the FB. Make sure you open some communications between you BEFORE sending a Revision Form to them. This is important as they have a self life and you can only send one per transaction. So if you send it without the buyer knowing it is coming, it could easily get overlooked or ignored. If they agree to revise it let them know they will be getting an email from Ebay which will contain an easy link for them to complete the revision task.
Yes, I contacted them before sending the revision request and they responded and said that, yes, they made a mistake and did not intend to hit Negative. I then let her know the revision was on the way and asked her to respond to it. We'll see
For what it is worth I had a similar case once before where the buyer left several identical (positive) negative feedbacks for a series of sellers. I contacted CR and they agreed to remove the negative accepting the argument that it was an unintentional "auto-repeat" and, especially, based on the buyers admission that it was a mistake.
Maybe, except with you go to leave a negative or neutral FB, there is one more step before posting. It asks you are you sure you intended to leave a neg or neutral and you have to hit the confirm button.
Mine doesn't do that.
On mine there is simply a blurb that could easily be missed but it would let me rate a negative & click , nothing made me confirm .
I backed out once my mouse was at the Leave feedback button but it was loaded & ready to submit .
At what point do you have to hit the confirm?
Well darn it. Yet another unannounced change. Thank you for sharing.

Hi, Labs...I don't buy here...so first time have seen your screenshot. But tell me, is the Negative block automatically highlighted when a buyer wants to leave Feedback? If that is true, this is just like that big 'ole RETURN button. This, too, needs to be fixed and the very small note put at the top of those blocks...Why wouldn't the Positive block be highlighted? Just like that return Button, another subliminal suggestion to leave a Negative. JMO...and just asking.

No. The negative button is not automatically highlighted when a buyer wants to leave feedback. @labs118 must have clicked on the "Negative" button in order for it to be highlighted.

Hi
As pburn posted Thankfully no the negative isn't highlighted blue that was because I clicked on Negative.
Here is one I am about to leave for an item that arrived today
You can see none of the options are Blue
Positive will turn blue when I click it
And since this seller had free shipping, it arrived before scheduled delivery date & We never communicated I can only rate for item description.

Thanks Labs for taking the time to clarify for me. In the case of that Negative screen, I still believe that teeny sentence needs to come before the blocks, or at least in a bolder font. But, thanks again for your help.

Yes, But I am hoping to get an answer to "is there a problem" first which will ideally make the request go smoother. Asking for a revision without a basis for the request seems risky.
Just to close this out I am pleased to report that the buyer did in fact respond to the feedback revision request. The negative is now gone and she greatly improved the quality of her written response.
Hope this gives encouragement to others facing a similar situation.
