It's safe. Those numbers are at the bottom of every check you have ever written. In particular, the Routing Number is simply your bank's digital "address" for money routing purposes; it identifies them, not you.
You might want to consider having a separate checking account exclusively for eBay sales, to keep your business funds isolated from your family funds. It simplifies the bookkeeping later, and protects your family money from any eBay mishaps. There are fee-free accounts out there.

Type managed payments into the Help and Contact section. There are many articles from eBay that will show you how managed payments work.
I agree with a_c_green, that you may wish to consider having a separate checking account exclusively for eBay sales.

but who is more likely to be hacked, ebay or paypal?
Also, I think these days paypal is subject to financial
institution regulations that may not apply to ebay.

But ebay also wants your Social Security Number (SSN),
date of birth, address, to "confirm your identity". I don't put
those on checks! I don't feel great about trusting ebay
with everything needed for identity theft -- I don't feel
confident that they can safeguard that info from hackers.

"yes, you gave it all to paypal."
I may be wrong, but I do not think a checking account was required to have a Paypal account. Just saying.

Adyen is the actual payment processor for eBay
"Adyen will become the primary payments processor for eBay sites across the world. After the existing eBay-PayPal agreement ends in 2020, PayPal will remain a payment option for shoppers on eBay..."
