Is it possible to create a "select 3 items" (multiple choice) variations listing?

Hello Community,

Quick question. We have a large bundle of Halloween socks and created a variations listing for them. Is it possible to add a feature like "Pick 3" to the listing?

We have 20 different styles of Halloween socks and would like to create a listing that allows the buyer to pick any 3 of them for $14.98 with free shipping.

The current variations listing I created only allows the buyer to select 1 for $14.98. Can anyone steer me in the right direction? Thank you. LCC

Re: Is it possible to create a "select 3 items" (multiple choice) variations listing?

There's no way to control how many items someone buys, and it's against eBay policy to require extra purchases. So the only way to accomplish this is to set up all the possible combinations available, with each combination of 3 being it's own variation.

This could be reasonably accomplished, if the total number of available choices is fairly small. For example, if there are 3 possible choices, that would be doable. There are 10 possible choices.

I'm not sure that most buyers would have the patience to search for the combination they want, at this level, and almost certainly not if there were more possible choices than just 3. However, if there are 4 possible choices, the number of combinations doubles to 20, with 5 choices it goes to 35, and it continues to get larger from there. 20 possible choices leads to 1154 possible combinations.

3redredblue
4redgreengreen
5redgreenblue
6redblueblue
7bluegreengreen

Also, with this type of set up, I don't know how you could keep up to date with which variations are no longer available when one of the possible choices is out of stock, or low in stock. For example, if you were down to one red left, then variations 1, 2 and 3 would not be possible, but the rest of them would be.

It would probably be better to use @wastingtime101's suggestion, and just offer a discount for purchases of 3 or more items. If you don't want to have any sales less than $14.97, or example, then you can price them at $14.99 each, but if they buy 3 or more, then you give 66.7% off so they cost $4.99 each.

Because you have a Store you can create promotions such as 'Save x% when you buy 3 or more'. There's a variety of options. Check it out here - click the blue button on the top right - then create order discount.

Re: Is it possible to create a "select 3 items" (multiple choice) variations listing?

Your listing needs to be redone @lewisclancollectors . Item 395622775030

As lacemaker said, you cannot advertise 3 pairs you pick when the variations drop down is for a single pair.

And why are you using MPN when those are not manufacturer part numbers? You should be using "pattern" or similar.

You're also violating keyword spamming policies with your item specifics as there are no Disney or Casper items to choose from. The field "character family" should be left blank since none of your socks are part of a character family.

Same goes for the "character" item specific.

Number in pack you chose "3 pairs" but is that actually true? It appears they are single pair packs.

"Performance activity" should be left blank for novelty socks like this. These socks are inexpensive every day socks, not meant for any of those sports. There are socks made for specific sports with targeted cushioning, ventilation, and other high-end technical specs. Your socks do not qualify for any of those. Field should be left blank.

"Personalize" and "handmade" are both "no" which means you should leave them blank to avoid clutter. Those fields only matter when the answer is "yes."

"Pattern" you put argyle/diamond which is all wrong.

So much clean up to do it's best if you end that listing and start over from scratch.

It only lets you select 1 item. Also the title says 20 pairs. Its a bit misleading, Many people do not read the descriptions. Id say You Pick 3
